No, this is a new label (one of many from a once reputable brand) made for a purpose to join the small but growing numbers that market this way.

I suspect the rot started some years back when they first offered some of their mainstream wines via Vinomofo, convincing those in the know to never, ever pay anything close to RRP for their wines.

It's curious that the wine is so new and newly listed that Google doesn't seem to find the TN even though the TN does appear on the winery site.

The TN provided appears very similar to this one from Wine Orbit...

Surely you can’t actually get away with that sort of marketing? And surely no one is buying it…? No other retail industry where someone would fall for that sort of garbage.

I guess all my survey responses were listed to.

My view has always been... Merge the 3 together under one brand and have the same pricing within all the stores and then go head to head with DM's. Bigger stores have bigger stock which in the end will force DM's/ BWS to react

DM's has completed scrapped being 'we are the cheapest/ no one beats us' model and you have to sit and google prices before you go into a store and I think LL could really gain a lot of market share here

I am trying a bottle of the 2013 Maverick Twins GSM tonight. At first taste it is medium bodied with some length to it. Slightly peppery.

I am enjoying it.

Thanks for the tip. First time posting here and I must say I rarely have problems finding JD secret wines from the tasting notes. This one however, no can do!!
My rule for JD cellars, is if I cant find what it is I don't buy and once I've found it I always search for the JD secret wine in mainstream retail before I buy it. If I can't find it in Dans, or similar retail outlets I don't buy, so this one was a no from me

JD mailer said "Matured in French oak (30% new) for 7 months" and the tasting notes on the website stated "French barriques & puncheons, 25% new -MATURATION 9 months" that is what threw me off the scent.

Specials aren’t even consistent within the brands! Though agree we may lose out with casbacks.
