IMO no...

If I was spending that sort of cash on St Hallet, I'd be getting a six pack of the '18 Old Block and pocketing the change or topping up with an Old Block Magnum.

I have. And both me and especially SWMBO thought that it was excellent. Would definitely benefit from some ageing we thought too.

Not sure is this wine need a bit of aging or not. I tried the 2021 and IMHO it’s just Ok. Out of balance, weird aftertaste. Maybe rough tannins.

I actually heard somewhere that 2021 and 2022 vintages were quite different. I really liked 2022 but haven't had a chance to try 2021.

Yeah, the 2021 is very savoury and a bit forward in development, wouldn't suit some people who enjoy more bright fruit in their reds as in the 2022.

I initially thought there might be some brett showing in the 2021, but eventually decided it was just the savoury style, no band-aids on the nose and the drying finish is not metallic at all.
