Stop rubbing it in people. This apparent new change by Amex to include the DJ Amex as one of the two allowed credit cards is very annoying!

So can I summarise what seems to be known from reading through this thread - we know that we can get the bonus points from DJs AMEXes whilst still holding another AMEX card, but whether or not we can get bonus points from another AMEX while still holding the DJs AMEX (after the 18 month holiday from other AMEXes) is still unknown?

Is that right?

When i sign up for the card i choose Member Ship Reward as my option , wondering if i could change it to Qantas after 2 months of use ?

My experience was that i got the standard card with signon bonus and then after ~6months received an invitation to upgrade and receive another signon bonus to the platinum card.

Went shopping at DJ last week and one of the cashier offering me the same thing when she know i already hold an DJ Cards , she gave me a very short form which only need to fill in my name and detail to upgrade to the Platinum card and saying that i will also received the 50,000 Bonus Points Offer . Thinking about calling Amex to confirm if this is true but didn't have a chance to do so . only hold the card for 2 months only .

Platinum attract a $299 Annual fee but for 50,000 Bonus points is fair value

End up calling Number at the back of the card to see if i am eligible for 50,000 upgrade to platinum but Amex rep saying that he cant see the offer to upgrade in my acc . However he said DJ have capacity to upgrade the card to Platinum . I decided to wait for an proper offer from Amex thinking hold on to this card until i can get approved for the Plat Edge

David Jones Amex card & DJ Amex Platinum card are great to have as an additional card. Best thing of this card is despite if you have previously held a amex issued credit card or not, we will be eligible to get sign up bonus on this card. I recently upgraded from Normal DJ ---> Platinum DJ Card via call centre and already received bonus 40K points after 3 spend with the new cards

So some tips for anyone who thinking about apply for this card ,

Step 1 : Apply for the normal DJ Card first , got the bonus points
Step 2 : Call up and upgrade to the Platinum Version of the card , received the new card and got the second round of bonus

I am currently holding Explorer and DJ plus Charge Card , agent told me over the phone that i have no problem apply for the Reserve . i think the limit of more than 2 credit card have been revised by Amex

I know it has but my experience in August last year did not reflect this wisdom and I wanted to know if it would worth applying again now.

I believe the only way some people have got around the limit is by cancelling an amex (non dj) credit card, applying for a new one, then once approved, calling some days later asking for the closed cc to be reopened.
