Not quite sure how magpies got into the discussion, but back to daylight saving, but i came across a rather clever youtube video that might be of interest.
A lot of useful information in that video and now there is no reason why anyone should dislike daylight saving.

I particularly like this comment. "Lets make "Week-end saving time" : Everytime it is sunday - we change the day to Saturday : )"
 
Makes my idea of permanently moving the whole east coast half an hour forward and leaving it there even more sensible. No changing clocks, not lost productivity, but still get a little extra light at the end of the day in summer. Everyone happy!

Actually in winter I would love to have the clock go forward 2-3 hours.

I hate it when it gets dark at 4:30pm. It may as well be dark until 10:00am when it is not needed so we can have more sun in the afternoon/evening. ;)
 
Let's roll the clocks forward 2 hours permanently then!
