Denali Demo and Rebuild

hubby just said why would you want 3phase when it can couple to the DC
EV can charge with either AC or DC

AC power is what comes out of the wall sockets
DC power is what the solar panels supply to the solar panel inverter.

AC charging: - Ev wall charger >> car's inbuilt inverter >> EV battery
DC charging: - EV DC charger >> charger direct to battery bypassing the car's inbuilt inverter.

Home charging is limited to AC only. It is not possible to DC charge at home (EV manufacturers do not provide a DC charging option at home).

3 phase 16A-32A per phase.
Tesla and EU EV are all 3phase capable.

Tesla charging rate is 11kWh (230Vx16A x3)
BYD charging rate is 7.3kWh via single phase only (230V x32A x1)

If putting in a circuit might as well go 3phase. Some say put in 32A 3phase , so it can accomodate just about all EV.
If you only put in 3phase 16A and then bought an EV like BYD which only uses 1 of the phase, then it is limited to 230V x16 = 3.7kWh rather than the 7.6kWh charging rate it is capable of (which require 1phase 230V x32A)

Of course you don't actually have to put in 3phase outlets.
A 15A single phase outlet will also be quite good.
A Tesla sitting in the garage for 10hrs a night charging at single phase 15A will add about 180km range. This is more than what people do each day for their daily commuting driving.

My Gyprockers dumped some my upgraded R6 insulation outside and I know there was none on the ground before they started so this is out of my ceiling or between floors and a piece of the R2.7 Soundpoof from a wall.

I emailed my SS and told him he better get a thermal image on my build because my private inspector will be and I will make them do rectification work on where its missing. It looks like maybe about 4 or 6 batts but 1, I paid hundreds for that and 2, it should be in the build.

Insulation update. SS told them to fix it and they picked up the insulation and hubby has been spying in the back of their car and its not been hidden in there so we're assuming its back in the frame. Will be checking this next inspection.

There is a house across the road that's 3 generations living there. Over the last month or so they have been getting lots and lots and lots of reno quotes (going by all the cars and discussions in their front yard, pointing at the house) and today....

Yesterday, Monday, our roofers showed up late afternoon and 3 of them walked around wondering what to do and one did a small bit of flashing and then they threw the materials on the garbage pile and left.... still leaving the small hole in the roof left from the scaffolding not fixed and a couple of other small items.

I was in the office so told hubby to take pics so I can email our SS but our SS showed up about 15mins later and saw it for himself and was on the phone soon after so fingers crossed the roofers return.

Out of all the trades we've had, the roofers have been the only boof heads out of the lot.

That's fantastic - as long as the roofers fix the hole with no drama, it's almost the home stretch (well not quite but getting there).

Heres the thing about the hole..... because rain was forecast hubby put some duct tape over it, hoping to minimise the ingress... we were joking last night they they might have seen the duct tape and thought, "already fixed" 🤣

I knew yesterday, when hubby sent me pics, but I confirmed this morning that they installed the wrong steps 🤣

After I freaked my SS out (on purpose) I told him we'll accept a tshirt for hubby in exchange of keeping these steps. I was wondering if we should have gone with standard nosing and now we have them.
