Denali Demo and Rebuild

Lounge ordering.... It's crazy my life means I buying three sets for three rooms.

Edit. One is for hubby'land and has to be long enough for him to sleep on and modular to get up the stairs.

Lounge shopping took us 4.5hrs and I sent hubby off mid buy to get a quick lunch as he was getting hangry, the sales guys encouraged this so they wouldnt lose the sale.

He doesn't look hangry. He's got a happy smiley face on 🤷‍♀️

What did you end up choosing?
Plush Furniture, three different configurations.

Media room home theatre recliners with cup holders, living room a chaise and recliners with battery pack so no cords running to the wall and hubbyland a couch which all recline but no cup holders. All electronic head rests.

Still have to buy a couple of side chairs but was looking elsewhere for those as I don't want chunky seats/recliners and wanted something with different texture or colour.

Hubby's school friend, who is now building, came over to look around as they have same design/our builder but added attached 2 bedroom granny flat and moved rooms a bit differently to ours.

I went through the six things I would do differently and a couple of things I changed, told her to ignore if not helpful. Her friend, went to same school with hubby, make comment asking how much storage do I need, apparently I obsess about storage.

Me to hubby. How many guitars do you have?
Hubby. About 30 (which makes me think there's more, BTW)
Me. There's at least 30 guitar cases to store.

We have doors, trim and skirting boards!

And the boof head roofers showed up, two got on the roof, one put the sheeting on the driveway, one continued his Picasso phase by vandalising the outdoor furniture with a texta some more...... and then they left 20mins later. Nothing done to fix the small round hole in the roof. We put the sheeting back inside the garage and advised our SS. The roofers have been the only WTF tradies this entire build

I have one of these off to the side of my couch: Parker bouclé armchair

I wonder if our SS will give us a key, especially as he sometimes asks us to go in and take a pic of something for him 🤣

Boring front door as we're just going to put a crimsafe screen door over it and statement front doors and door handles are really expensive.

The chippy said the house was really cool inside and he opened the rear stacker doors and a cool breeze flowing through... which we knew/hoped/planned

Render started, small hole over garage fixed and tiles delivered.

Plus a visit from one of hubby's Aunties..... who wants to rebuild and wanted a look around and get our sales rep name... so fingers crossed, only 822 more referral rebates needed 🤣

Are you having any front door video installed, such as Ring? Hardwired? Or with your built-surveillance set-up, maybe that's a silly question :)

Front flood light on approach? If you think that sometimes you (or visitors?) might park in front of the garage after dark, prob a useful idea. My place gets lit up like Christmas every time I come home after dark.

Or get a security camera off Amazon for around $55, self install, and set up a cloud account to store pictures. Let's you sound a siren, turn on a light or talk, from anywhere.

Yes to all the things. We like Ring cameras, super easy to install and use - using them now to monitor the house & surroundings.

Hubby has future proofed the electricals for outdoor lights, gates ect. Electrics arent my thing so I dont pay attention to him when talks about it.

Render completed and tiles delivered. In hindsight I wouldnt have the brick pylons at the front (maybe timber posts) but we really gave absolutely zero thought into our facade 🤣

I broke it to hubby that we won't make Christmas as there are still so much to do so he's currently depression eating and sleeping badly. I tried to soften the blow with Christmas being spent in the city for 4 nights, Christmas lunch at a steakhouse, fish markets for lunch another day, even Brazilian bbq and fireworks.

Told our tiler should be here this week so fingers crossed.
