Denali Demo and Rebuild

Our tiling continues - I didnt realise it was a big job but our bathroom is big with 3.3mtr tiles to ceiling and there's 2 other bathrooms plus alfresco and front entry.

But... developments with the build across the road. They moved out Oct 22, demo Nov & Dec 22 and only just got their gyprock delivered yesterday. Today they moved into the house two house up from their build 🤯. For comparison, we demo'd in March and started build in April and up to tiling with kitchen/pantry installed.

I wonder if they were renting and the 12mth lease ran out and made an offer to be closer to their build? We see the husband/dad out the front of his build every day, usually on the phone, so this will ramp up his observance.

In the meantime, we're hoping our tiling will finish this week and then its laundry cabinet install for benchtop measuring and (fingers crossed) painting. Looking forward to getting inside to see the tiling, I know the colour is going to be a bit boring for my tastes but I can add colour with towels ect.

Maybe the neighbours? :) :)

Boring colour tiling update, I didn't realise they installed scaffolding for the 3.3mtr ceilings. My SS is often surprised by how little I watch what's going on but we don't want tradies to think they're being watched all day. Even when our SS visits we don't approach him as we don't want him to begrudge coming here because we take up his time. He knows where to find us, like today, as we had to make a couple of decisions.

Oh, and our smart toilets have been delivered. Dont know who does that installation work but Im guessing not the tiler.

Hoping this works but hubby discovered the corner unit in the butlers and was very excited about it, he was "take a video, take a video!". I hated the useless corner unit we had in our old kitchen so really wanted this. We didnt get the custom painted (2pack?) cupboards at $5-$6K so I could get a few things that made sense to me... for $1700 this corner unit things makes sense to me and brings us joy 🤣.

We have one of those pull out corner units and we think it is a great bit of kit.

Build across the road update..... their tradies have abandoned neighbour and just come to our site and wander around inside the house.

Kitchen installers are back (yeah), installing laundry cabinets and cupboards and noticed two tradies inside, talking, pointing and wandering around room to room. Installers ask if they're OK as they look a bit lost and eventually figure out that the two tradies are not suppose to be inside our house. Theyre suppose to be across the road at neighbours house installing gyprock... which we already have.

Yesterday our laundry was fitted out and handles installed on all cabinets so we're ready for bench top measuring.

Going by the scraps in the rubbish pile we also had our French Navy vanity installed in our bathroom but have to wait for SS visit to see it

What I'd really like is for a comfortable chair that will convert into a single bed but they don't seem to exist except T&W and IKEA and the chairs aren't comfortable

I saw this the other day but no idea how comfortable they are. From Lounge Lovers.

Interesting, often they do a first pass spray of paint before hanging doors and installing cabinetry. But doesn’t look to be any done yet? Have to be careful protecting all those surfaces for paint now.

First spray happened yesterday, everything is covered and doors removed. I asked the same question about the doors, why install them to then have to remove them. By the emails from our SS and what the painters say, they are super flat out with work as we were expecting them about 2 weeks ago

Rookie mistake and I now have a Dulux Alley Blue Qtr garage 🤣

I assumed all garages are painted white be default. Our bedrooms and hallways are Dulux Alley Blue Qtr as Mr Denali really likes blue. Its a good match for what we had and like other things that he picked that are not up to todays fads I had no argument against it as I got almost white in the rest of the living/kitchen/pantry/laundry.... ie my spaces.

So now I have a Alley Blue Qtr garage.

Only downside might be that the garage is a bit darker at night, but not much, I guess.

What's that cable bundle coming out of the wall?

And if I I absolutely hate it, I can get someone to paint it. But it was a bit of a surprised... 1st home builder error but not the end of the world.

The cables are the sub board...... so many power points, 3 phase and future proofing 🤣 Will also have the solar panel and batteries on that wall but towards the roller door corner

Even though now I look at a couple of places and think, I should have put a power point or a light there... but they can be easily added by our guy after hand over.

@Denali . Nice ceiling height 3m?

Surprisingly 2.4mtrs at the front part of the house (2 bedrooms, media room, 1 bathroom & powder room and hallway), 3.3mtrs at the rear (master room, living space, kitchen ect) and 2.7mtrs upstairs (Mr Denali land). Im pretty happy with how 2.4mtrs feel as Im use to 2.7mtr from the old house and growing up. Would have liked higher at the front but that just made the rear even higher again and it was getting crazy and for us those rooms are spare rooms.

The garage is 7.2mtrs long and 6.7mts deep.... and blue
