Probably too late but..

One thing did when i bought a house up the hunter recently was to change the locks to a restricted key
So every door and window can be opened with one key. Even the side gates and shed locks can be opened with same key.
The restricted key cannot be copied at Bunnings - only at a master locksmith.
Why not use electronic locks?

We will be doing this as well. Our old house was all key'd alike so we will be changing all the lock barrels as well.

While I was wandering the house just now, putting blue tape on things for rectification, I noticed the main bathroom cabinet (servicing the other bedrooms) doesnt have a GPO inside the cabinet. I checked our electrical plan and yep, its suppose to have one.

I checked my pics and found below so yes, its suppose to have one so just emailed my SS with pics and drawings.

I was actually saying to hubby we had to go through to make sure every GPO ect is accounted for because otherwise we might have live wires inside the frames.

I believe they took the cable from the left hole and moved it to the right hole but Im not certain. I should have picked it up earlier but I'm not in this bathroom often as this part of the house is "spare" and not rooms/spaces I go to often.

We went with this:

and stove top is:

We accidently left lights on in the house overnight. There are a gazillion switches we have to get use to, I was thinking of labelling them

We drove all the way out to Penrith, aka The Riff, to check out a blind and shutter showroom and they were closed today 🤣, so we went to Krispy Kreme for bribe goodies and then to our builder's office to drop off our custom sign paperwork (could have emailed it).

Then decided to go back home and check out mattresses as our home maker centre has 3 stores in the one complex. We usually buy from Snooze but the last buying experience with Snooze wasnt good (told them our budget was $4-6K and they kept trying to sell a $10K mattress to us) so we thought we'll also look at OMF and was impressed enough by their product and staff that we ordered from them. Hubby was ready to have a nap. So check out OMF if youre looking for a mattress.

Outdoor hot and cold shower installed and stormwater plumbing started yesterday. We require a rear retention pit to push water uphill without a pump (thank you council 🤪) so that's still to be done.

We've also had a GJ employed tradie here all day, going over things and doing some minor things like external trim over garage door and whatever he's doing inside. We haven't had practical completion inspection yet so I appreciate them wanting to finish off as many niggly things as possible before my inspector comes in.

Because we have 3.3mtr ceilings at the rear split of the house I made sure we could use the under stairs space for storage, aka the Harry Potter room. Access is via the study nook. Turn sound on

I wonder if one day someone will turn this into wine storage or the nook into a makeup area, as its next to the master bathroom, but for now its this.

And shower screens installed!

So glad we spent the extra money on increasing the thickness of the glass as it feels much better than the flimsy screens I've seen in the display homes.

Unfortunately we couldn't have the 3.3mtr floor to ceiling glass we originally pick so had to get the 2.7mtrs glass so that glass vs window alignment is going to annoy the heck out of me forever but will have to live with it.

Also had a mirror installed in the powder room. I'm thrilled the powder room is large as I, as a fat person, hate the tiny toilet rooms that seem to be the norm these days.

Edit. Just noticed the roll of toilet paper in the powder room, I guess someone else gets to use our Japanese bidet before us
And our SS has been doing more blue taping today.

With all those turns, it would make a fine shelter when the apocalypse comes. Or trick-or-treaters come. Or AFFers trying to find the house-warming 🥳
