Our ensuite basin was installed today. I went with a single basin as I don't need anymore sinks in my life to clean and we have extra bench space.





We also discovered, thanks to the rain, that we're missing a downpipe. and our rainwater tank is full and the new stormwater pipe thingy to the street is working. Edit, the drainage is in the ground.

3000ltrs and yes plumbed into the house. Not sure about using rainwater for laundry, it sounds weird to me, so time will tell. The mains will kick on if the tank is empty. I guess we can also override and just use the laundry tap as well

My son has exactly this system - full rainwater plumbed into the house. They use it for everything. Son gets cross when late summer they run out and they have to pay for the mains water everyone else uses all the time. That’s only happened once in 3 years. They have so many tanks under the house. DIL is a fuss pot about cleanliness - her house is always immaculate even with 2 toddlers. And she loves rainwater. If it’s constantly used in the house it will be fine.

His electricity FIT is also 56 cents. He doesn’t even know what a power bill is. Sigh.

We only have rainwater - 2 large tanks. Then we also have another large one that fills from a shed and soak for garden use.

So we use rainwater for all our laundry. It's great. The water is so good to drink and we have lots of friends wanting to take stocks of it away when they visit. This year it's been exceptionally dry so a bit of a worry. If you are worried about contamination, add an inline filter from the tank itself that covers all taps it supplies. You can also divert the flow if there has been a load of ash falling or some such event. Then when it's washed away it is back to filling the tank. Not sure if you could do that as it is also filling from the mains.

Yes, that reminded me. They have a filter too. I think it's just for drinking water - ie for kitchen. They were thinking of doing a system one.

Yes, but you are out of town so rainwater quality should be excellent. I'd love a tank for domestic but I worry about all the pollutants in the Sydney air.

At my place, the fixed 'supply charge' is large in comparison with the 'per unit of water consumed' charge. Does he get hit with that type of charge?

Yes, he would. Even if he wasn't attached but the main passes by. It's a sweet little government earner.

Its inserted from the top/not under mounted. I thought it would be easier to keep clean and avoid mold, that Ive seen some undermounted

Thanks. I would have preferred a navy blue kitchen but hubby said too dark but theres a lot of light/white tiles in the bathroom so vanity plus navy blue towels and some navy accessories (soap dispenser, bin ect)

We also got our 1st quote for veri shades, block out and honeycomb blinds, plantation shutters, front and crimsafe type rear security doors and sliding/stacker door screens (invisiguard)..... $19K

According to the quote, full price veri shade/sheer is $8600 before discount. I want them to tell me who would pay $8600 for a sheer curtain so I will then know who won powerball. Waiting for 2nd quote on Monday

Yes it's inserted from top but is it flush with the bench top surface?

And tell him yes that's possible with the same inverter. Just put it facing a different direction.

We're doing our lights after handover and lights2youaus had extra discounts so we thought we would get it done as we're hoping handover is in a couple of weeks.

The large pendant light (in white light) is for the stairwell void going upstairs and the smaller pendant is for the 4 steps going to the lower half of the house. Also got outdoor sensor lights plus a few other fittings, like for the under stair storage.

Thankfully, with discounts and using visa gift vouchers from my work, we saved over $1K today.
