Devalued transfers Velocity / KrisFlyer from 1.35 to 1.55

Hi Does anyone know that when SQ say you can book redemption flights for up to five people do you as the kris flyer card and points holder have to be on the flight as well.

they do need to be nominated though, and it costs $x to change names after 5. can do this through KF account.

You can change Kris Flyer redemption nominees but I had to wait until 6 months had passed after I flew 2 friends to Europe as a one off. You have to let them fly too before you switch them out.
I think the fee to change was $30 per nominee.
The nominee does not need to be a relative so I can book a girlfriend for my son to travel with or stuff like that.
We both love the Dragon cc to run up Kris Miles.
I have never switched miles and do not plan to do this ever.

Leaving my run late but pondering transferring some points tonight. I’m hesitatant due to expiry and I already have a ton of QF points to burn (> 1mil) as well as VA (~1m)....

I’d keep some for VA redemptions but maybe transfer some for SQ (or *A) J / F to Europe (1x 2 PAX). Any hints on a min/max number of VA points to transfer?

For those worried about expiry, surely you would just transfer the miles back to Velocity if that became a risk? You have 36 months to use them with SQ anyway, so I can't imagine it's too serious a risk.

I transferred velocity points over today . I now have 156k kris flyer and 300 velocity points to use . Keeping my fingers in both pies

Transferred about half over to KF as prob will use SG for Europe flights and VA for USA flights (upgrades etc).

Much better availability on SG generally i've found for my required flights.

I transferred 376,000 velocity points to SQ yesterday, which I worked out as 48 VA trips BNE-SYD or 32 BNE-MEL. But, I chose the SQ to get OZ-Europe J trips.

I'm overseas for another week and have not bothered to transfer any points out to SQ.

Will try to get some VA redemptions to HKG but don't think that will be too easy to get for 3 people.
