That pink stuff is cheese?

Sadly In & Out is on a list of things to visit as we have a layover at LAX. And Pann's restaurant for some stupid Pulp Fiction thing.

What mode of transport did you take from the airport? Did you route via the carpark using the bus?

The pink stuff is sauce, the yellow stuff is cheese.

When I went we caught a car park bus from the airport (C, I think) to D52 and walked around the corner.

You catch the Parking Spot shuttle (Sepulveda). The Parking Spot is literally next door.

"DYKWIA Log #12"

Sorry for the late update, tight connection in MEL this morning.

So QF94 was a delight, amazing crew, good service and a very attentive CSM. They definitely knew who I was - the FAs "oh you must be the gentleman who flew in this morning", to the CSM who has received a phone call from the previous CSM to give him a heads up. Truly remarkable service and I'll be sure to send a nice note to QF commending said CSM.

I'm reminded that the 380 is a remarkable aircraft and I managed to get a serious amount of rest.

Delays ex-LAX (lol) meant that whilst mid-air, the P1 team had proactively moved my connecting MEL-SYD flight to the next one 30 mins later. Turn out that this 2nd flight got cancelled when the aircraft went tech and I was moved back another 30mins.
First I knew about it was a generic text message from QF upon landing that mg flight (new flight number) had been cancelled.

A quick call to P1 team had me back on the original flight with 10 mins to spare in the lounge. Lost my original 23D unfortunately, but get auto-allocated me 34B (which is ok except for the toilet smells).

As an aside - the only border-related grief I received was incoming into MEL, where the exit dude was not in a hurry to believe that I was only in the States for 1 day. However I promised him a romantic dinner with Tony Hancock and he let me through .

Final observation - I know I'm in the minority - but I miss the pre-dinner drink service on the long ex-LAX evening flights in Business. I know folks want to eat and sleep sooner - must remember to specially request my pre-dinner G&T

"DYKWIA Log #13"

It seems appropriate to finish up with log entry #13 on Friday 13th.

We finish where we began, utilizing some arrivals access in the CNS QP.

The amazing lounge angel in SYD J left a VM whilst I was in the air to advise that my QC15s have turned up and now it's just a case of getting them. The P1 team also tracked down an item # for them. As a result I have nothing but awesome things to say about premium QF staff going above and beyond to assist when things go wrong.

As always - a smile, being polite, my unbelievable good looks, and of course Status - is always more effective at enlisting help than being an obnoxious DYKWIA.

I am however really getting sick and tired of QF running their oldest and ****tiest non-AVOD 738s on the CNS routes.

A couple of years ago I ran about 8/10 on getting a newer aircraft (about 5/10 for BSI). Lately it's been 1/10 if lucky.

It's been a fun couple of days and I was actually quite depressed to board an old domestic flight which signaled the end of the adventure.

The most entertaining aspect of the last few days has been the incredulous reactions and comments by people about such a whirlwind trip/turnaround.

Not just from non-FF friends, but from FFAs/AFFs, cabin crew, QF P1 team, QF Customer Care and lounge staff.

Memories oh sweet Memories

My first taste of an in and out was in 1996 in Las Vegas and Man they are still damned good.

What is the most amount of stacks anyone has done?

Have seen one person order and devour a 5 stacker once

Work colleague this morning at 5am....

"How was your weekend?"

ME: "Oh you know, nothing too exciting.... Few drinks with friends, couple of movies, slept a lot.... You know - the usual"

Wasn't for status JohnK 

You did that for that?

The In-N-Out offering makes me feel ill just looking at it.............. I guess the old adage is never judge a book by its cover, but I can't see myself ever wanting to put that slop anywhere near my mouth I'm afraid. :(
