Disagree app is easier, web you have to type in stuff which is auto populated in the app
You may disagree but you obviously have a different experience to me.

My stuff is auto populated (using chrome) and I find a physical keyboard much easier.

In the end, I showed the DPD summary at Nadi check in and the check in agent said it was all good (even though they only glanced at it for a split second).

I thought the rule was within 24 hours, so even if you arrive at midnight you have until midnight the next day. I see AKL is open 24 hours so should be possible.
AKL airside transfer is closed overnight, so forced to go landside if arrive around midnight.

**Update: Solved it. I was able to manually put in SCL>SYD without AKL at all. It gave me some errors (airline and destination) but I just selected the same option again, then it put it through**

I am flying on LA801 SCL>AKL>SYD. I am trying to fill out the DPD, but it will not show the AKL>SYD flight and then it won't let me submit because it says "The arrival port is not in Australia. Please add another flight to your itinerary". I tried to submit the AKL>SYD part manually, but it won't allow me to select LA as departing from AKL.

Any tips on how I can fill it out?

Is there another flight number for that flight i.e a code share? When i was flying back from Fiji i was on a FJ operated flight with a QF flight number. It wouldnt accept the QF codeshare, so i just entered the FJ flight number, after all its the same flight.

I recently tried out Canada's version of the DPD, the ArriveCAN app, and it worked just fine. A way better experience than the Australia DPD app!

Just saying - maybe the DPD app developers should talk to the Canadian government...

I’ve had to leave the room as MrP is doing his right now. My sons PIL are flying over from UK next week to visit new Grand baby. I don’t think they will be able to manage it.

I don’t think they will be able to manage it.

If they or your son can do it from home before departure, it's easy enough to do on the website using a laptop or desktop and then printing out the form. I had no trouble* doing it that way, but I was able to do it in my office before departure because I was going to be away less than 7 days. I'm dreading the day I have to attempt it while OS on my ancient ipad2 or on my iphone with no printer attached.

*No trouble apart from extreme frustration with the govt IT idiots who think it is a good idea that you have to upload vax certificate, but then you have to separately and painstakingly type in all the details from said vax certificate.

<redacted> you use the app and scan the QR code on your certificate all the vaccination details get populated and you need only click 1 button to confirm. Same with passport, use your phone to scan the chip and all details populate.

Its only if you choose to use the web page that you need to type in details.

That's assuming your certificate has the details. The NZ certificate only has the last one.

This is misinformation, if you use the app and scan the QR code on your certificate all the vaccination details get populated and you need only click 1 button to confirm. Same with passport, use your phone to scan the chip and all details populate.

Not true if vaccinated outside Australia. We have to enter every dose separately, and both ways for 2 Australia transits on a single trip. Very annoying. Especially if not even entering the country but merely transiting.

That's correct. All vacc details have to be entered manually. The NZ vacc certificate only has details of the last dose so you need to remember where you put the card from the first two. It would be heaven if you could enter the details from an electronic source.

If this is really misinformation then why can't anyone else get this to work? ie it seems that the app is VERY patchy and mostly doesn't work so it's not misinformation at all.

Agree but son is in OZ and they are in UK.and vaccinated there. So they will need to do it themselves over there. Plus a tiny wee daughter/granddaughter born just five hours ago is adding to something that just doesn’t need to be.

Given than many people, myself included, have found the app at best useless, typing in details via the web page is often the only way to complete the DPD.

If only it was a matter of genuine choice.
And I’ll add - of any use! I could not capture a screen shot of the phone. I googled and the app didn’t support that function. So I had to use the website and do it that way.

They can, including others on here.

the app didn’t support that function
As stated previously screen shots are a function of the phone completely independent of whatever app you are using, just swipe your hand across the screen and it take a screen shot, if the screen is scrollable, you will see a scroll button to extend to the complete screen. The screen shot saves to gallery just like any other photo.

Nup.

Take a scrolling screenshot on your iPhone

If your iPhone runs iOS 14 or later, you can take a scrolling screenshot without any external third-party app. Apple offers this function right inside your iPhone’s built-in screenshot tool. The only catch is it only works for apps updated to support it, such as Apple’s first-party apps and others like Google
