Diners - Jumping on bandwagon

I don't yet have a supplementary on mine but I think everyone gets their own card number and individual card charges itemized separately on the statement.

Can confirm this is how it works. A quirk is that although primary cardholder can change their PIN online, supplementaries are stuck with whatever they are given in the post

Hi guys and gals, so first statement is due. Do I have 14 days to pay it off? I get paid fortnightly and wipe my card clean then. Seeing as I don't get paid for another couple of days this shouldn't be an issue right?

Just got my latest statement, asks me to pay immediately but no later than a set date. Generally, I'd say make sure you pay it by the date nominated on your statement to avoid penalties and forfeiture of points for that statement. I've set up Direct Debit so I don't have to worry. Direct debit has been set up for a few days before that set on the statement as it can vary from month to month.

Ok great thanks. I haven't actually received my paper statement yet I just looked online and couldn't find a date to pay by. Thanks for your help.

Hi Keftetha
From experience of the last few it is 14-16 days depending on when a weekend falls. As albyd says you are given a deadline on the paper statement. I've tended to make the transfer 2 days before the deadline. DC do charge 75c for doing it via bank transfer but direct debit is free

Has anyone else noticed no more updates on the website about recent purchases? I've paid my statement 4 days ago and still hasn't shown up on the website, let alone purchases I've made almost a week ago.

its pretty common to see that a few days after statement date.... usually just an IT thing. I've learnt to live with it even though it is annoying not being able to see recent transactions.

I find it irritating but the telephone balance is pretty accurate.

I am feeling very positive with DC at the moment as they seem to have given me double the number of expected SPG points on (a disappointingly small) transfer

I have learnt that complaining to Diners about points transfer issues get their systems so confused, they don't know where to begin. they just chuck points at you to make the problem disappear!

Interesting-I had chased it up the day before the first set of points came in, then some more came a few days later

Latest transfer to spg landed today. All done via website-12 days. Cautious optimism

13 days this time. Seems to be pretty consistent. Not on a particular day of the week or month

since the upgrade to the new layout, I have noticed it says that points transfers should take up to 14 days to complete, and not the 28 days they used to stipulate. and they have been consistent... which is great.

Double crediting happened again-I hadn't made any enquiries. Looks like they haven't ironed out all bugs in the new system :)

Sorry to hear that Andye,

has as anyone registered with SPG for the one night Gold promotion? Apparently we need a bank promo code now, and to try get that from diners customers service is frustrating!

Did it last year and stayed a night in March. Got my gold just after. To top it off I paid with the DC and just changed the credit card on the booking afterwards.

I dumped them as when something went wrong they were impossible to deal with and poor service out of the Melb office at the best of times.

Matt
