Soooo Diners Club and Discover are 2 different things? Even though it has the discover symbol on the back of the card? What exactly does that mean then?

Discover owns the diners club franchise in the U.S. So US websites treat the cards as Discover cards.

Thanks for the quick response Deen. Coz I have had some issues lately buying online where they accept Discover however do not recognise my Diners number.

I have seen that before. Luck of the draw I guess. Just used the MC or PayPal in those cases.

Ok great so it's not just me then. Thanks for your quick help. Have a great long weekend!

So I'm looking at paying off some HECS debts, I dare say I'll need to prepurchase these payments? So do I just make the BPay payment into diners for the exact amount? Credit card fee included? Or the exact amount of the debt?
then once I see the credit go in, call Diners to authorise a payment from the ATO. Then I'll need to go ahead and make the payment. Sound right?

Yep sounds right. I don't even include the credit card fees when I transfer the amount in. Call the authorisations line.

Brilliant, thanks Deen! I forgot about their authorisations line.

For the record, I have tried both 8225 8963 and ....0963 and get the standard message that this number if not connected. Anyone got an updated number?

I hope this one stays alive now ANZ have shut their facility down for these payments. Looks like only a matter of time.

Just confirming we still get points for ATO payments with the MC? An editor from Ausbt seems to think not!

Hi - could someone please advise current status r.e. using this card to make business related payments to our friends in Canberra.
Feel free to PM if you'd rather keep the answer out of the limelight.

Pretty sure it's a no-go as Diners is a Citi-issued product.
