the points from last months statement will only be issued when this months statement comes out, provided last months balance was paid in full. also, if you are redeeming for a trip, allow another 2-3 weeks for the points to transfer to the hotel/airline of your choice. if SPG, then another week perhaps to get to AA, etc.

Thanks Deen I thought that may have been the case. I have my statement from the previous month yet no points have been credited yet hence my question. Think I might have to make a follow up call. Thanks.

It is a painful experience. they seem to have got over the issue of points not transferring at all to SPG but it can take anything up to four weeks in my experience. To be fair the call centre guys have followed through on the couple of occasions I have chased things up. (....as in stayed on top of things - speed is another issue completely.)

I never depend on points from diners for anything needed in a hurry.

Keftheka, do you mean your May statement points have not credited or the June statement points? Have you received your July statement yet?

Yeah my June points haven't come through yet even though my online statement has come through.

They come in when the next month's statement is issued.
edit:sorry answering a few posts ago

Deen, yes it was all completely paid off within the two weeks. Not sure what is going on here, but I'll call them when I get a chance.

I am getting absolutely fed up with these clowns. Have been on hold for 2 hours and they're trying to tell me I'm over my limit 2 weeks into the next statement period!! They're trying to tell me the merchants haven't taken their payment yet which I have been billed from Diners in the LAST STATEMENT AND PAID FOR!!!

I'm seriously starting to think whether these "extra" points I'm getting by holding both a Diners and MC are worth it. Might be better just to go to AMEX and have a FF Visa or MC with an Australian airline.

Hang in there mate. My first few months were the same. About 6 or so months in I managed to increase my limit which has helped a great deal in stopping these after statement incidents like the card getting blocked etc.

Thanks Deen, I'm going to call Monday and up the limit again. I missed out by half an hour tonight to increase it. Just a shambles when trying to tell someone how to do their job. Turns out they haven't 'pushed' the payments through or something like that. Hopefully it's all sorted for the weekend at least.

Like I said before, if it wasn't for the convenience of being the only card in Australia that I can get a MC to transfer to SPG I would've gotten rid of them a while ago. Have a great weekend everyone.

My quality of life has improved since I ditched my Diners.

Just too much hassle.

Likewise... a fraction of an SPG on MC spend isn't worth the customer service hassles, limited and shrinking DC acceptance, spotty lounge access and annual fee.

I wonder if Diners has reduced the charges to merchants. When booking Rex flights the surcharge for DC is lower than Amex which is a ludicrous 3.95%.I have also had a couple of restaurants that accept DC but not Amex in the last ~ 12 months.

One thing that annoys me about merchants is that they display the DC logo on the window and on the EFTPOS machines yet when I actually go to use it..."sorry card not accepted here".

Hi guys,

I did a SPG transfer 3 weeks ago now. Nothing shown up. Hoping will show up within the 28 days they re-quoted on the phone.

Just looking to cross check with others' recent experiences as I thought they were only taking 2 weeks now. Have a booking I don't want to lose.

Albyd.

the last few I've done have been between 2 and 3 weeks so just hang in there.... hopefully shows up soon. unfortunately not much you can do once it leaves Diners.

Thanks for the feedback Deen & andye. With the sliding $A keen to not lose my SPG booking as revenue bookings becoming more expensive :(
