It's interesting, only predators relax like that , flight and prey animals must always be ready to fight or flee
 
Had to show MrP your cat pictures as they are stunning. Then did a bit of reading up. They are bred from an Asian Leopard Cat! I can imagine if one of them got loose and bred in the wild how scarey it might be to come across one.

Certainly could be an issue for wildlife, enough gets killed by outdoor cats already. One reason why we have him indoors and access to a run. We also back onto a reserve which we don't want to get into. Another reason for keeping inside is that get stolen! So far he is good, loves the run and hasn't tried to get out, a firm 'no' when opening doors is enough to deter him, for now!

Someone wanted to import Savannah cats, that would have been crazy, they apparently can jump to 2.5 metres straight up. They are a cross with an African Serval and can weigh over 10 kg.

Have a read up about the Scottish wildcat - they are a mean coughcat :D
