Discussion on Cats, Moggies and Felines in general [with Pictures]

I did wonder if that dry food anti furball worked. I'll give it a try. Thankyu.

Are there any tips for preventing fur balls? Without being too graphic every couple of months we have, "frequency" and not always in the litter tray, that lasts around 18 hours. This time there was a hairball expelled from the other end (as only cats can do) so we now know what causes it.

So how do I prevent these in the first place? :(

Have you tried Catlax? It's really good for furballs. My Persian suffers with furballs in summer especially when it's humid.

There are bushfires in Adelaide now and sadly one cattery and all cats have perished. Our cat is currently boarding at a cattery in the Hills at risk and so far all ok. But very anxious next few hours. :(

OMG thats horrible. hope all the other animals and beings stay safe. I didn't realise the fire was so bad but I haven't watched the news, just saw photos of someone coming in to land.

How awful for the cats and their people :(. I hope your kitty and all the other animals stay safe. I'm very thankful my cat (and the pugs) is at home with my partner.

The fire is over a huge area of SA. Still out of control but currently not towards where our cat is staying.

The boarding kennel said that it was distressing to go back after the fire. Some dogs survived after being revived with oxygen. But all cats lost. :(

I've yet to hear the story, maybe it was an emergency but it seems strange they didn't make some kind of evacuation plan. But it seems like it was a huge kennel. Maybe that's the thing - look for a smaller place where preventive action is possible.

On the ABC news it was reported that they took as many as they could. But having left so many behind, I agree there can not have been an effective evacuation plan.

I think they took some dogs but left all the cats.

Hoping for no new fire warnings for Woodside please. Currently the cattery where our cat is staying is taking in cats who've been caught up in the fire. They are good people and I'll make a donation when I collect him. Their Facebook page has also been updated and many offers of help came in.

(OT. These fires are bringing out the best in people. Apparently people from safe areas who have horse floats have been driving into the areas offering to collect and agist in their paddocks.)
