Discussion on Cats, Moggies and Felines in general [with Pictures]

She is amazingly gorgeous! I love the torties :)

I've become a cat owner for the first time this year. Best thing ever as it had been years since I last had a pet which were guinea pigs.

Later that night after she got desexed.

She's pretty. Glad you found cats adorable. I'm almost in the same boat as I've been brought up with dogs and never have liked cats .... however go back 18 months and my partner then wants to foster cats and I'm pretty reluctant... but now I'm totally changed. Cats are super cuties.

I've been away from home since last Monday for work and even though I'm only fostering this little one, I'm missing her playfulness. .. I've posted a pic of her before but here's another one..... she's around 16y.o so we have been calling/nicknaming her Grandma hahhaha

My partner has sent a photo of our foster cat 'grandma' today ... We've only been apart for 12 days but I think she's eagerly awaiting my return home tonight...

I'm in Chiang Mai right now and found the Catmosphere Café which have lovely cats n kittens to play with as you enjoy your iced thai tea..... quite a bit of fun and a way to spend the afternoon indoors....definitely recommended if you are in the neighborhood.

This post is a bit delayed (I always seem to read AFF on my mobile and can't upload photos from it)

In September I was in Chiang Mai with my 2 children, we were tired and a bit upset that major renovation work was going on in the room next to us (jack hammer) so we looked up something relaxing to do in Chiang Mai. We came across Catmosphere on TripAdvisor and as cat lovers couldn't miss it. On our return to OZ I was reading this thread and stumbled on your post Alanslegal. We enjoyed Catmosphere, my kids LOVED it, I was just happy for the cool air and that they were happy to play with the cats for 1 1/2 hrs. I was surprised at how small the cafe is, the menu is very limited, but the chocolate shake was one of the best I've had. I only took a couple of photos and most of the cats were slumbering for the duration.

This was my favourite Chiang Mai 'temple' cat. He wandered around yelling at everyone for attention, winding through legs and purring loudly

Are there any tips for preventing fur balls? Without being too graphic every couple of months we have, "frequency" and not always in the litter tray, that lasts around 18 hours. This time there was a hairball expelled from the other end (as only cats can do) so we now know what causes it.

So how do I prevent these in the first place? :(

We give our kitty the "furball treatment" type of dry food most of the time and it seems to help. She's a medium-hair as you can see in the pic above, and she doesn't have too much trouble with furballs anymore. Still gets them occasionally, but only very occasionally.
