Discussion on Cats, Moggies and Felines in general [with Pictures]

I can relate to that!
I remember breaking a pair of reading glasses trying to get madam into her cat box to go to the vet. She knocked them off my head and I stepped back on them!

Chickens are much easier to administer medications to. And they don't hold a grudge if you give them a little treat (grapes are always a winner) immediately afterwards.

I thought you could get a paste to stop fur balls getting too big - sort of like senna and something. We had some for our madam at one stage though she wouldn't eat it so had to smear it on her fur for her to lick off.

It's called "Cat-lax" - a mixture of paraffin and caramel.

Happy day in our house.

The next insulin dose increase after a static result in the glucose test seems to have been enough to kick his own insulin receptors back into action and he started producing his own insulin again. Meaning the diabetes has gone into remission and no more injections! So he got to come home today:D

Terrific news for the Milboo puss then :)

Study finds Cats prefer interacting with Humans over Food.

The researchers said: 'While it has been suggested that cat sociality exists on a continuum, perhaps skewed toward independency, we have found that 50 per cent of cats tested preferred interaction with the social stimulus even though they had a direct choice between social interaction with a human and their other most preferred stimuli from the three other stimulus categories.'
The second most popular type of stimulation was eating food, which was preferred by 37 per cent of cats.
They added that their research could be used to help owners better train their pet cats.

I'm not sure how to link it here but check out a post on FB by Dr Chris Brown about Venus the 2 faced cat Very interesting.

Wow. However I don't agree about cats having only green or yellow eyes and that blue is rare.

Our cat has blue eyes. When they are open. (He loves my shoes )

Our blue-eyed Ragdoll also has a shoe-fetish. Loves to rub it's chin on them. Also has a rubber-fetish, if I leave my neoprene wetsuit lying around it goes crazy, rubbing all over it.

And I bet he loves having you home again. He is a beautiful boy.

I thought a number of cat breeds had blue eyes.

Indeed. Jumped up on the bed on Sunday morning and he proceeded to sit on my face. Then he decided that wasnt good enough so he did a 180 and sat about six inches away and stared into my face.

Yes - exactly the same. That is why the thong is a favourite.

Our 4 year old moggie (who has yellow eyes but the shoe fetish!) has been in kitty hospital for the last 4 days with diabetic ketoacidosis. :( New diagnosis, he was pretty damn flat when we took him in.

Noticed he was looking lean (he's always been thin) in the last week but just assumed he didn't like the food. Feel guilty now! But he was acting totally normal until one day before he just crashed.

It can be so hard to pick if they are off colour as, like kids, they can be fine one minute and laid low then next. Hope kitty is feeling better now.
