Discussion on Cats, Moggies and Felines in general [with Pictures]

That's very inexpensive. A typical cat dental procedure would cost my clients $600-900 including pre-op bloods, IV fluids, dental xrays, etc.

I've been quoted around $600. Same for the dog but we've got her chewing on things and her rating dropped down enough that she no longer needs a dental.

Which dental biscuits? Depends if the dental claim is based solely on kibble design to provide a mechanical removal of plaque etc or whether the kibble actually contains an active ingredient (from the phosphate family) which works to stop calculus forming.

Furballs - just need to ensure that the diet contains sufficient fibre.

You would probably get both these benefits in a single food.

My kitty is home :D

Not a fan of the bill but a lot of it was the multiple blood tests.

I bought him a new bed to celebrate him being back.

We are minding son and his partner's cat while they so overseas.

I wonder where she is?

Yup. Under the lounge.

I can see you :)
Doesn't look particularly happy yet

Daughter used to bring one of her cats to visit and she would spend the time in the wardrobe, crying piteously until someone went to talk to her. Then she was happy but preferred to stay in the cupboard.

Took cough to the cattery today and I rang ahead and ensured I could take her straight into her suite.

As we entered the place she started meowing and carrying on and then in the suite she started hissing when I went to open the carry cage. I opened the cage and left the suite. She will sit in her cage for an hour or two sulking before coming out and being sooky for 24 hours.

After that she'll be all over the staff like they're her new best friends.

Day 1 went well. They were kind of together all day but separate. Until about 4.30 when our cat cornered her and she showed him whose boss. Poor guy. Our last cat Pushka was way feral so he's a little bit wary around females. Both like being upstairs though as it's nice and warm.

Tomorrow he's having his teeth done all day so he'll need TLC tomorrow.

How long are you cat sitting? If for a reasonable time they will learn to get on with each other hopefully. Poor puss tomorrow with his teeth - give him lots of love when he gets home. :)

Until Monday of the PH. Nothing like a complicatedness with Melbourne visits.

And how is Puss tonight after his teeth job?
Hope visitor has settled in well too.

Visitor is a tiny quiet little thing who has found a favourite warm spot on an old sofa squished between two pillows.

The older Master of the house is home and all teeth scaled nicely without any removal needed. They tell me he might have a sensitive gastro system. Recall I mentioned a few pages back about the diarrhoea - furball cycle? Clearly not even vets listen to the patient ('s mother) as they started telling me he gets tummy issues. Aha. I mentioned that the last 2 visits. Anyway he's quite bright and perky and eating. Neither cat is interacting with the other which is quite peaceful.

On top of all that we moved office today and neither principals were there. They have no concept of what that means.

Sensitive digestion here too in my old boy. The food I've had best luck with is the Hills Prescription Metabolic. It is a weight management food when fed in restricted amounts. I dislike the brand immensely and if he was a young cat, I'd be pickier on choice but it works for us so we stick to it.

Guest is very chilled now. From hiding under the lounge she's now straddling two chairs next to me and son. Found both cats upstairs just hanging out together.

Master cat found a nice hidey hole today - seen snuggling into son's new black suit bag he is getting ready to take to England for a wedding. 'I promise I won't leave any fluff behind'.
