Discussion on Cats, Moggies and Felines in general [with Pictures]

True on the snake. She must be a real hunter. Any idea where she’s finding the rats?
Do you tell her she’s a clever girl?

No, I didn't tell her she's a clever girl. I'm too busy trying to get the rat away from her before she decides to eat it.

She doesn't go out hunting much as she is kept inside at night and hardly ever bothers to catch a bird. She is a very relaxed cat and much prefers sleeping or following me around thangoing off by herself.

Don't know where she is getting the rats from but we have a nature reserve over the back fence so she may be collecting them from there.

At least the rats were dead! She must have been very disappointed that you took them away from her. :p

I've taken a couple of live mice off ours. Depending on how I feel on the day I kill them myself or release them for the cat to torment another day!

Flick caught her first bird the other day. She lost it trying to bring it in to me - I was late feeding her that day so she must have assumed I’d lost the ability to hunt.
Told her how proud I was of her, only took 3 years.

They are so funny the way they bring their spoils in so that we can tell them how clever they are! Daughter’s cats bring in grasshoppers and let them go.

My heart is in a million pieces right now. I had to say goodbye to my kitty this morning.

Last night it was like he just suddenly said it’s time so I respected that and gave him his wings.

He’s been a massive part of my life for over 14 years and I can’t imagine life without him there :(

Sorry to hear your news and I know exactly how you feel. I, after swearing I would never have one, was given my cat as a kitten and only had mine for 10 years before she became irreversibly sick. Three and a half years later I sill hear a noise or see something move and think it is her. I am still unable to even consider replacing her.

Same here, it's been a while since we had our last one put to sleep, we miss them so much but still can't contemplate getting any more, that might change, but not quickly.

Oh so sorry to hear that Milboo. He was certainly so well loved and so much part of your life, it will take a while to get over not having him around. Though as you said, it was if he knew it was his time and let you know.

Thanks. I got him shortly after I moved to Sydney from NZ 15 years ago so he’s defined my whole life here.

I had this issue with Miss Petal recently, her favourite fresh meat product wasn't available. I purchased another brand and served it only to receive total contempt and abuse.

I had to keep the phone hidden because she would have rung the RSPCA to report me!

I have since purchased the correct brand and been suitably admonished.

I'm going to side with the cat on this one!
