Ok, will let that things go.
Back to Main Thread title: do you think the direct AKL - DXB EK metal non QF SC flight will be an earner for EK with QF NZ based flyers not earning QF SC? Time savings not stopping in Aust would be an advantage of course.

Can you possibly be any clearer when you type things out?

I know it seems like I pick on you a lot and I'm sorry, but honestly a lot of the time you write very confusingly!

If I understand you correctly you're suggesting that the new AKL-DXB v.v. service on EK, which has no QF codeshare on it, would earn.. what.. points for QFF members out of NZ? Yes, obviously, but no SC.

EK 448/449 does appear to not have a QF codeshare on it at this point.

Those who value SC will clearly just have to take the services via SYD/MEL/BNE booked with QF flight numbers to earn SC under the current rules. I strongly suspect those that value earning QFF SC's are probably not, in general, the same bunch who will massively value the 3ish hour savings of the nonstop (eg road warriors)

I'd also note that the "connecting" flights also arrive earlier than EK449 (looking at AKL-DXB) but obviously leave a few hours earlier. One could take EK407, under the summer timetable, departing AKL at 6:50pm (do-able for a business person following a working day in AKL) and arrive there at 05:30 vs 9:20pm departure of EK449 arriving DXB at 05:55.

Long time reader, first time poster....

I need ~300 SC's, and I find myself in SFO in April.

Whats an easy SC AA US domestic trip you guys would suggest that would be < USD$1K to pick up these SC's to get WP! :)

It all depends on the day.
And none of the trips are easy as the good ones involve lots of plane changes. SFO not a great starting spot but looks towards the Caribbean

I would have a look at this.

Look for DEN and AUS, they are relatively cheap destinations.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

If you're willing to max your budget, take a look at SFO-CLT-UVF (Saint Lucia), currently pricing at ~US$950 mid-April, which is excellent value IMHO for what is (usually) an expensive place to get to.

For $75 more you can fly the A321T flat-bed via JFK

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

This is a $6100 BNE-SIN-NRT-LAX r/t http://goo.gl/flights/UuBw 25k Miles 720 SC
This is a $7200 BNE-SIN-NRT-LAX-JFK-NRT-HKG-BNE http://goo.gl/flights/rGgc 780 SC
This is a $7900 BNE-SIN-NRT-LAX-JFK-LAX-NRT-HKG-BNE worked on ITA but too many for google link 840 SC

Honestly, I would do the first one and add a standard mileage run that has a stopover in NYC for more SC and less dollars. A basic LAX-JFK-MIA-PTY is about A$1000 and get 500 SC, so for $7100 you get your platinum renewal.

Working on maximising this flight I posted in the Cheap International fares. Turns out it is a cost-effective way of flying J to LOFTAM with good SC. http://www.australianfrequentflyer....es/bne-hkg-nrt-lax-jfk-74242.html#post1402789

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Moindardt, I haven't flown for a while and need to be in London 1st week of April the start of my QF FF year starting from scratch. I plan to fly to LAX and the do a SC run or 2. In ref to your comment A basic LAX-JFK-MIA-PTY is about A$1000 and get 500 SC - I cant seem to get it over 440 SCs which is Biz via JFK but even then I cant find the route via JFK on the AA.com site...Any tips on what I am missing or my process.

That's terrible news Pushka. Hope you are ok.. Have they found why you you got the DVT?

I have met a few people at work who use "blood thinners" before flying..

Thankyou!
Still having tests. Its in my neck. And that is I've been told numerous times, rare. I'm a non smoker, light drinker, thin, fit, good blood pressure, non 'illegal' drug user. Having cancer checks - mammogram and such things. Joy.

It is indeed pretty rare not only because where it is located but also because you have no evident risk factors..

Hospitals aren't fun... If you need any help or have any questions don't hesitate to PM me..

Best wishes

Plan Vs Actual...or will I go mad?

I have a run planned SFO-DFW-ORD-DTW-DFW-TPA for 420 SC's.

However the first loeg leaves SFO at 12.25AM and ends in TPA at 8.42pm the same day.

Will my luggage keep up?

Will I be praying for a missed connection and a reroute so i can go direct to TPA instead of DFW for the third time and get an ORC?

Will I be burned out and be unable to repeat the return journey 7 days later?

Will I be like MArge Simpson running up and down the aisle screaming 'LET ME OUT LET ME OUT LET ME OUT LET ME OUT LET ME OUT"?

I believe you may have issues with checking the bag past DTW. Generally most DCS systems don't like doubling through the same airport. If that happens you'll need to pick it up at DTW and recheck.

I don't think they can print a luggage tag greater than 3 or 4 sectors.
The biggest assumption is that every flight is going to be ontime.

It can be done as a conjunction tag. You can do 3 sectors per tag so a total of 6 across 2 tags if necessary but you'll get some strange looks from check in because it's not common.

Interested to see how you go. Is the itinerary robust enough to cover potential delays cancellations?

Have you thought about UPS your luggage to final destination?

Whats your estimated $$ per SC?

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

For the first time in a long time I need to do a status run to retain WP, so looking for some advice please.

I need 320 SCs, which becomes 215 if I book something today or tomorrow and take advantage of the 50% bonus SC offer through Aquire (I know, I know, leaving it till last minute).

Any suggestions on the cheapest way of earning 215 SCs ex-MEL?

Thanks, really appreciate any advice.
