Just interested in what the lowest $/SC people have come up with utilising the DSC (decent runs ie >100SC)?

NZ status runs are hard to beat (e.g MEL-SYD-CHC-BNE-MEL) 520SC for $1622 = $3.12/SC

I just booked MEL-SYD-DSP in J for $2054 return which should provide 640 SCSI think that is $3.20 / SC.

Bonus is never been there and was always going to go one day and this gave me the push. Plus first ever F Lounge SYD visit since I just got WP late last year :)

MEL-ADL return for $290 on the 28 March. 20SC (40 with DSC) and the QC in ADL is not a bad place to do some work.

Thanks for that! I kept looking at Devenport and Launceton and other places I hadn't been before, but in the end went with your suggestion of Adelaide, because yes, this is not for sightseeing - it's just a status run that I'll use to get a bit of work done.

You're nearly at LTG and this is your first time as a WP? Impressive.

Considering you're 95% of the way to LTG I guess this run will also pretty much take you to LTG?

I have been WP before but only F Lounge in Melbourne. Most flights have been Y domestic.

And yes this will be the flight that gets me to LTG and a long way to qualifying again for WP ðŸ

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Booked for Dad: PER-SIN-PER then PER-MEL-PER both in Y. The MEL flight is to position for 2x MEL-SYD-CHC-BNE-MEL back to back so thanks to the above poster.
All up is around 1200ish SC plus the 50x2 SC loyalty bonuses and some prebooked flights will get him back to plat in the first month of the new loyalty year.
He doesn't actually fly Y (or OW) enough to justify it all on a points/cost/future value basis but it's his money.

After currently booked flights and a loyalty bonus to come, my +1 needs 170 SCs (or 85 allowing for the DSC offer) to make gold for the first time. I've been looking at prices to NZ or CNS/TSV but open to suggestions.

She is based in CFS but could fly from OOL, BNE or SYD.

Thanks in advance.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Nice. Have you booked anything for yourself?

No. I rarely fly domestic and QF doesn't fly real planes from Perth so status with them is relatively useless. I would spend real money to get status if VA joined *A though, because now I mostly fly J via Avianca or cheaper J fares from Asia.

I may need a single domestic flight or 2 though, need to think.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Actually Cynicor the A330 Qantas business Suite has become one of my favourites. Sometimes they are too popular so I go on Virgin A330 business Suite rather than go in Y.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

am I right in thinking there was a spreadsheet with SC calculations at one stage ? if so does anyone have a link

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Can I confirm that the double status promo doesn't apply to QF flight numbers on Jetstar? E.g. If I wanted to book Melbourne to Singapore on JQ but with a QF flight number, the double status promo won't apply? Many thanks.

Can you please read the Important Information section of the promotion: link

It very clearly answers your question.

That's domestic- which I stated I don't fly.

You finished your post by saying you were about to book one or two domestic flights, and complained about Qantas not flying "real planes", hence Cove's response about the A330s...

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

For those looking for a good run outside the trans-Tasman, consider cheap J flights to NOU, where there is good value to be had. E.g. DRW-BNE-SYD-NOU in FLEX J is $1325, netting 420 SCs with the promo ($3.15 per SC). Also good deals ex ADL, CBR and probably others. Just be careful to select QF metal for the flight to Nou (as AirCalin also ply the route).

I have spent what is now far too much time constructing an overly complex spreadsheet yes. You're welcome to use it just be aware I can't guarantee its accuracy and haven't added all airports worldwide or all possible destinations from the airports that are available, I don't have an instruction leaflet but you can probably figure out how to use it/add stuff if you have some basic Excel knowledge, a good pair of reading glasses, some paracetamol and lots of patience.
