Just interested in what the lowest $/SC people have come up with utilising the DSC (decent runs ie >100SC)?
Best I could find Moindart was 440SC @ 2.58.

The return leg of that same run is 320SC @ 2.70 Edit: actually it's not a complete return as I end the run with a visit to relatives.

The tragedy is that dates clash with an existing OW Award booking.:(

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Couldn’t make the dates work for me on the excellent BNE-SYD-DPS return with the SC bonus.

But anyone who might be interested in booking before close of this offer tomorrow, I did find the following:

BNE-MEL-CHC (Book One Way) J-Class. (Warning: Overnight flight MEL-CHC!) $887AUD, 140SC = 280SC with the bonus.
CHC-MEL-BNE (Book One Way) J-Class. (Requires a 10 hour – or longer if you want it – transit in MEL overnight – ) $840NZD, 140SC = 280SC with bonus.
Therefore 560SC for about $3.05 per SC.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I just booked MEL-SYD-DSP in J for $2054 return which should provide 640 SCSI think that is $3.20 / SC.

Bonus is never been there and was always going to go one day and this gave me the push. Plus first ever F Lounge SYD visit since I just got WP late last year :)

sorry to be noobie, what is WP?

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

W&anker Platinum (WP) - just a term used here.

So with myself being a Qantas Platinum member I'll get Sydney Qantas First Class Lounge access before the flight to Bali.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Booked for Dad: PER-SIN-PER then PER-MEL-PER both in Y. The MEL flight is to position for 2x MEL-SYD-CHC-BNE-MEL back to back so thanks to the above poster.
All up is around 1200ish SC plus the 50x2 SC loyalty bonuses and some prebooked flights will get him back to plat in the first month of the new loyalty year.
He doesn't actually fly Y (or OW) enough to justify it all on a points/cost/future value basis but it's his money.

the Y here is Flexible Economy or Economy?

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

i feel unfair that SYD-MEL-CHC-BNE-SYD $1617 @480 SC, $3.37/SC

Yeah best I can get is CBR-MEL-SYD-CHC-BNE-CBR for $1900 @520SC , $3.65/SC Not bad (Beats my previous best SOF-DOH-RAK in J for $1000 for 180 SCs on Qatar) but not the aboslute best but might be the best ex CBR.

Just plain Economy. We use Y to denote flying in Economy, J to denote flying in Business and F for First. Usually in the context you see them here they refer simply to the cabin, not the type of fare.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Does anyone know if using a travel voucher will affect earning the double SC.

Used a travel voucher last year and seemed ok, reading terms and conditions cant find anything about it.

Hoping there is someone in the know

Great work with all the runs there is some great ones out there atm.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I've noticed some cheap J MH Z fares BKK-KUL-MNL-KUL-BKK when booked through cheaptickets.co.th $488AUD plus whatever fees they charge I guess.

Anyone used these guys? Seems to be plenty of dates, but you have to book two days apart. ie. depart march 7 return march 9. The fare isn't available 7-8.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

After I booked my J CBR-MEL-SYD-CHC-BNE-CBR flight for May, I realised I probably should have planned ahead as my SC's expire July31st and I should have booked some flights for after then to help with retaining gold for next year....... Ah well rookie error (even though i'm close to LTS, I should know better lol)

That's about the standard price. Try booking with the Malaysia website.

You are correct. When I was looking earlier this year those fares weren't available. Might have to book in the status run for fear of the price changing again..

In theory, you are not supposed to earn DSCs when using a voucher purchased during the promotion period but when the booking of the flights themselves is outside of this window.

I've used cheaptickets.co.hk for a four sector intra-Asia itinerary. My last leg was KUL-HKG on CX. I'd earlier checked bags in from CMB but the agent there couldn't issue a boarding pass, only through-check the bags. When I presented to the CX lounge I was ticketed on the following day's flight (my original flight). I couldn't get a hold of cheaptickets but CX fixed the problem. When I did hear back from cheaptickets the following day they acknowledged they had made an error and when I asked to have the change fee waived as compensation they didn't batter an eyelid. That's how service recovery should work and, because of that, I'd use them again.

More hints required, I.e. With who?

Perhaps qantas.com?

In September 2016 there was a rumour that domestic First in the United States would soon book into Business fare codes instead of First fare codes, thereby diminishing the status credit earn by a third.

USA subsection of the wiki could use an update.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

CMB/CBR return in QF/UL J earns 600 SC's return for $2410 AUD at the moment. $4.02/SC. Would've been $2.32/SC if booked during the double SC promo last weekend.

Nice find. The DSC promo didn't apply to non QF operated flights (bar some trans tasman EK) so the earn rate wouldn't have been much better last weekend just fyi
