Nice find. The DSC promo didn't apply to non QF operated flights (bar some trans tasman EK) so the earn rate wouldn't have been much better last weekend just fyi

Most of the flights (6/8) are QF primes, plated on QF ticket stock. It would've been 1040 SC's under the double SC promo for $2410.

Hi,

First time posting on AFF, been through the post trying to find any good options for a USA status run,

Currently looking for 450 SC to achieve Platinum, travel dates are from mid June to Mid July, Preferably in AA First. I will be in LA-Orlando-Chicago-New York-Seattle
If you have any good option please let me know,

Cheers

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Given AA F is now AA J called F still, it is a lot harder.

Have a look at this ex AU (assuming you're in AU) BA J Sale PER-BKK with many options

The recent double status credits offer gave good opportunities for status runs involving flying QANTAS within Australia or to/from Australia or if you fly a lot getting a lot of extra SC on flights you would have done anyway.

I recently did MEL-SYD-OOL return (my last trip from the 2016 offer).

MCO-ORD-BOS-ORD-MCO can be done in a day (I have done this run three times).

This should net 240 SCs in F. Do it twice and you're there.

You can position to MCO by doing LAX-DFW-ORD-MCO in a day too, netting 180 SCs.

That exact itinerary, with a final leg from Seattle to LA, will net 350SC in AA F (J SC earn).

Do you just need 100SC more with some creative routing? or do you need a full 450SC return run from one of those cities?

Looking for a status run from one of those cities preferably to obtain 450SC, the MCO-ORD-BOS-ORD-MCO route is certainly a viable option,

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I need to fly 3 segments on QF. All my other flights have been on One World carriers. I'll be travelling to Longreach from Brisbane. If I book Brisbane to Barcaldine and then Barcaldine to Longreach as separate flights, and then just book the return from Longreach direct, would that could as 3 segments. The two flights between Brisbane-Barcaldine and Barcaldine-Longreach would be on the same day on the same physical aircraft.

Your first leg via Barcaldine appears to be the same flight number and IIRC that counts as only one segment. So it looks like only 2 segments.

It is the same flight number. It's possible to book BNE-LRE as a direct flight, or book BNE-BCI and BCI-LRE on the same day.

Maybe I'd just be better off flying direct and flying somewhere else for the day.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Hi guys, need your help again: any way to get 110 SC really fast and cheaply? based in SYD.

Absolute cheapest way to do this? Here's something creative: if you don't have one already, sign up for the Qantas American Express Ultimate Card and use it buy a SYD-xMEL-LST-xMEL-SYD Red e-Deal for $450 or thereabouts. Will net you 115SC (40 + 75 bonus).

You'll also get a free QF domestic flight and 75k points if you hit the spend limit. $450 annual fee.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Alternatively, the below 105SC for $862 (do you need exactly 110?)

Ah. Thanks but i absolutely need to hit 110 to get to WP :/ I alredy factored in the 75 SC from the Amex (also already have the the ANZ one) and the 50SC loyalty bonus.

My understanding is that multiple segments booked same day on the same flight will accrue as a single earning. Trying to split QF1/2/9/10 for example into two coupons LHR-DXB-MEL/SYD won't work if you continue on the same flight number (and same plane). While the SCs may credit separately, not worth the risk.

Thanks. That's what I'd be doing. I'll just have to fly somewhere else as well.

If they are booked on same itinerary the SCs won't count separately but if you book SYD-DXB on one itinerary immediately followed by DXB-LHR on another itinerary then SCs both sectors will credit separately.

I have done something similar in the past with Queensland milk run, CNS-TSV, TSV-MKY, MKY-ROK and ROK-GLT-BNE booked separately but same flight number the same day. Received 40 SCs.

Ah, that makes sense. So separate tickets is the key.
