re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I think that routing might be 160 SC if I am correct.

No, definitely 200. According to GCMap:

LGW-MAD is 753mi
MAD-BCN is 301mi

These earn 60 and 40SC respectively according to the distance based QF partner earn table (https://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/flying/airline-earning#partner-airline-earning-table) and also the points calculator.

On a side note LHR-MAD is also 60SC (771mi)

You might be getting confused with LGW-xBCN-MAD? That would be 160SC return.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

You can bounce through BCN and MAD to any IB destination, prices out pretty similar ... Time it right and get the A340 or 777 to/from London, too.

Best QF Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion: Mel:BNE -advice please

At this stage, I look like being 70 SC short of Qantas Gold retention this year (end of July).
The only additional flights I have are Melbourne - Brisbane return, over a mid June weekend, for an overnight stay.
Any suggestions as to the cheapest way I can earn these SC and complete this travel? I can do multi-stop....Need to be in Brisbane by about 5pm.

Re: Best QF Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion: Mel:BNE -advice pl

Hi all.
I am currently in the US and would like to do a status run to get at least 220 status credits. I am near Fresno (FAT) so ideally starting from there.
Unfortunately the Qantas website will not allow use of their calculators when in the US, so I am unable to work out a suitable itinerary.
Having been Gold for a number of years, I am as close as I am going to get to achieve Plat as I will ever get so have decided to try for it.
I would really appreciate any help or suggestions you have.
San Francisco, San Jose and Sacramento would also work as a departure point, but I would prefer Fresno.
Thanks for any help.

Hi all.
.. Unfortunately the Qantas website will not allow use of their calculators when in the US ....

Not sure where you obtained that information.

Are you selecting AA in the drop-down box before you enter the airport locations?

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

From the Qantas web site.

This is a cut and paste. The font and bold are from the site, not mine.

[h=3]Please note that the Qantas Points calculators are temporarily unavailable for customers in the US region[/h]We've made it easy for you to find out all you need to know about earning and redeeming Qantas Points.
Find out how many Qantas Points you'll earn1 for each flight and where you could go with your accumulated points. Plus, you can also find out how many Qantas Points you'll need for Classic Flight Reward seats2. And if you fancy an upgrade on your next flight, check out how many points are required3.

This has been like this for about the last 6 months if i recall correctly. When you go to the calculator page it immediately defaults to the above massage. I can't get as far as selecting AA in the drop down box.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Not sure where you obtained that information.

As pcx mentioned, the QF calculator has been completely removed from the QF US site. This happened some months ago, around the time AA First SC earns were 'enhanced'. More info in this thread: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....r-program/qf-sc-pts-calculator-not-80240.html

San Francisco, San Jose and Sacramento would also work as a departure point, but I would prefer Fresno

EDIT: Wrong info sorry - couldn't see F in Skyscanner but can see it on AA's website! Will have a look at routings and get back to you.

Either Sacramento or San Jose would work with San Francisco last.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Sorry for misinformation, looks like AA do have two-class First out of FAT. Will get back to you.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

As pcx mentioned, the QF calculator has been completely removed from the QF US site ......

Use the QF AU website. Here's one example:

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Then use the QF AU website.

If you read the thread I linked, you'd see others report it being geoblocked - they need to tunnel their internet traffic through an Australian VPN to use the calculator (which is ridiculous on QF's part)

OK. Well if the OP can come up with some routes, I'm happy to post the QF calculator earnings.

Edit:

Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Thanks. So smart......

Will look at costs of car hire vs direct Business + cheap economy ticket (10 + 60) ....dont want to use points plus pay for these....

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

OK. Well if the OP can come up with some routes, I'm happy to post the QF calculator earnings.

So I am looking at FAT PHX HOU
Then HOU LAX FAT
All first class $1680 USD

Also found another route
SFO PHX DFW HOU
HOU DFW SFO
Again all first class $1018 USD

Appreciate you telling me how many SC's this is and any alternative suggestions. I don't know how to use some of the web sites you guys use so am just working off AA.com

Thanks

I have noticed that my recent First/Business domestic bookings with AA have ticketed as Business (not First).

There were some SC earn changes announced recently. I can't find what I'm looking for, but maybe someone will be able to add more on this.

If these AA flights credit as J with QF SC, then they would be:

FAT - - - FAT.JPG

and

SFO-PHX-DFW-IAH-DFW-SFO.JPG

Edit: Haven't really proof-read this properly

AA F credits to J, except on the three class transcontinental routes. At least that's my understanding.
