Thanks, Kevrosmith but I don't have an ABN And the fact is I don't how to message you. That is one of the reasons I don't write much or a story in AFF. I tried before and lost everything.
Qantas Business Rewards has a 50% Status Credits offer at the moment, if you happen to be a member. Book by 14-Aug, travel by 30-Sep. If you don't have an ABN, message me, and we can work out what Business you may have for my company.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I have 600 SCs from OW flights and need 100 SC and four QF sectors to reach SG, and have only a few weeks to get it.

I'm looking at SYD-BNE-CNS return in Flex Y which satisfies my requirements for $783, and can be done in one day.

Is there anything else I should be looking at?

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

That's a good option. Indirect flights to somewhere in QLD offer good value especially if you want to go up and back in the one day to avoid accommodation costs.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

OK, SYD-BNE-CNS-BNE-SYD is locked and loaded.

Departs SYD at 0800 and lands back there again at 1810. The three transits are 65, 40 and 45 mins.

Earnings are 5800 QFF points + 100 SC from the flights plus a further 1762 QFF points from the ticket purchase.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

The flight from BNE-CNS and the flight back from CNS-BNE would almost certainly be on the same plane especially with the 40 minute turn around. If for some reason your flight from CNS-BNE arrived too late to connect to the flight to SYD if everything's on the one booking QF would sort that out with you e.g. in the lounge.

Definitely only take carry on for this trip and remember that seats restricted to higher status travellers start to open up 80 hours before the flight. You'd probably want to not sit too far back just in case you have to rush to make your next flight.

If the flights are on time you could get a lounge visit in SYD, two in BNE and one in CNS. I reckon the lounge in CNS is the best domestic lounge outside a capital city that I've visited and there could be very few people in the lounge too which makes a change from crowded lounges.

I have selected aisle seats around about row 18 on all sectors, and will be checking for any opportunity to improve on that with my LTS status as time passes. I have also put in for classic upgrades to business on all sectors, as I have plenty of points and it would only be 25,000 points if I got all of them.

If the flights are on time you could get a lounge visit in SYD, two in BNE and one in CNS.
If the flights are on time, there's not much point in using the premium lounges. I have one LTS lounge pass which I will take to use if the schedule gets significantly disrupted.

If I'd been prepared to spring for another ~$40 I could have cut the BNE transit down to 40 minutes, but it just wasn't worth it for me.

Ah, forgot you didn't yet have Gold. If you get the Business upgrade you can of course use the Business lounge before that particular flight if you want or in the case of Cairns the only QANTAS lounge there, the QANTAS Club.

If my memory's correct I had a spare seat next to me on a flight between BNE and CNS last year so if they want to fill the Business cabin with upgrades I reckon you're in with a chance of getting one on that leg.

From Loyaltylobby.com
Very Cheap Malaysia Airlines Business Class Fares ex Bangkok & coughet Are Back!

The booking window varies (ends August 23rd 2017 with travel until 31st March 2018)

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

The last time I booked one of these I neglected to read the fine print, my wrong, as the cheap tickets were classed as discount economy.

I wonder if they are doing the same thing this time, just curious.

Cheers

As long as the flights stay within SE Asia, crediting MH Z class to QFF works well. Flights to/from Oz/NZ or to/from Europe have their own "simpler and fairer" interpretations.

Happy wandering (after reading the fine print)

I know discounted economy rates apply for MH flights between Malaysia and Australia, but if booking business class fares for intra-asia (albeit a discounted variant) it should be o.k., no?

And confirmed by wandering_fred at the same time as my post :)

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I did HKT-KUL-SYD in MH J for $650
HKT-KUL earned J SCs
KUL-SYD earned Y flex SCs
It was a good run as SYD-BKK-HKT in Y was $630

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

In checking these deals out I found the different classes of flight and the sc's they earn, but they are in the Enrich system, so how do I check what the oneworld earn is please fellow travellers?

Thanks, still learning.

It's very simple! (sarcastic)
First you need to look at the "qantas-frequent-flyer-earn-categories-for-flights-on-partner-airlines" for the specific OW airline (http://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/fl...rn-categories-for-flights-on-partner-airlines)
Then, you need to look at specific routes in the partner earning tables: http://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/flying/airline-earning#partner-airline-earning-table

To simplify the process, once you found the earn category, you can use the QF calculator: http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/do/dyns/initialPointsEarned

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Thanks for the info(sarcastic)

I will query this with Malaysia airlines to find out what the actual earn is for these "specials", as I mentioned earlier these discounted business class fares are not always what they seem with MH.

As mentioned in previous posts, with MH, flights will earn in different categories if they are between Australia and Malaysia or Malaysia and Europe*. So a Z booking class will earn flexible economy SC if between Oz-Malaysia-Europe or business SC for all other MH flights.
http://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/flying/airline-earning#mh

*Flights between Australia and Malaysia, UK or Europe*; New Zealand and Malaysia, UK or Europe*; and Malaysia and UK, Europe* or Middle East

MH don't decide on how many SCs other airlines credit for these fares and will not provide any advice as such.

What defurax has advised is correct - to add you can determine the booking class (probably Z) by checking the fare conditions on the MH site during the booking process.

When defurax was noting the sarcasm, they weren't having a dig at you, onemore. They were having a dig at Qantas who noted how "simple" the changes were when they introduced the new earning interpretation tables. Some people may argue that they were not actually very simple to interpret.
