Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but $400 is simply not achievable for either 90 QF SC or 130 OW SC, unless you have a DSC or +50% SC offer available, or have existing travel planned to somewhere in SE Asia with time for a side trip.
thanks for input. I figured the $400 price tag was not achievable. Best i could find was $600-800 return to PEK.... which isn't bad...

Qantas sale at the moment is helping to get MEL-NOU (via BNE) on 992 return for 240 SCs
Best I can see is;

Depart betweenSat 11 Aug 2018–Sat 20 Jul 2019
Global Deal
One way Business from$951** Conditions apply

Where did you see returns for $992-?

This might not me the best ratio $ to SC (AUD6.93/SC), but I'm considering booking it...
CGK to ORD/BOS and other US East coast destinations via NRT and possibility for multiple segments in the US. Can be booked on JL or AA metal and codeshares.
I looked at CGK-NRT-ORD-BOS-DFW-NRT-CGK which gives 620 SC for AUD 4,300.

Shame that SYD-MEL-CHC, CHC-MEL-SYD J runs looks to be enhanced now so that is way more expensive to transfer through MEL rather than direct. Put the earn SC/$ back in the $6+ range. Cheaper to revert back to SYD-BNE-CNS, CNS-BNE-SYD in J with around $5 per SC.
The old $3/SC seem to have been enhanced.
If there is a DSC starting tomorrow can anyone recommend a good run from SYD?

I was thinking about going to LHR over Easter next year. Thought about breaking it up a little & overnight in PER and perhaps get chauffeur drive as it seems you can get a similar price with the stopover as going direct with QF1. At around $6.20/SC it could be ok.

Suggestions and routing advise welcome.

I think the SYD-xMEL-DPS on QF and then DPS-KUL on MH is the best way to go. You'll end up with 710SC if you use the loyalty bonus.
Yes its a good run, I just did that and got J class MH $190 return DPS KUL

I’m looking for Adelaide. Cairns seems super $$ for J.

Bit new to this. Looking at a $4.70/SC syd-HK. Deal or no deal?
Can I do a quicker domestic run for a similar ROI? Looking at a daily/overnighter in November

Any suggestions on getting from Melbourne to Brisbane around the 6th or 7th September from Melbourne to Brisbane that will earn me biggest bang for buck with DSC. The LTG is verrrrry close

How close is close?

MEL-SYD-CHC-BNE(stop)-MEL can be done for $1450. With DSC it earns 520SC and comes to $2.79/SC.

How are you searching that, each leg individually or something like MEL - CHC, CHC - BNE, BNE - MEL then jus selecting the flights with SYD connections?? Are you stopping in CHC overnight or something or literally flying in and out on the same day?

I’ve only found MEL-SYD-CHC-SYD-MEL in J for around $1,700.00, also it’s 480SC, not 520SC :(

The SYD-CHC leg is operated by Emirates, would you still qualify for the DSC?

750 away from LTG - didn't think about NZ - but that's not a bad return. Will have to consider - Thanks for looking.

Hi all

I am 255 SCs away from Platinum, have to hit it before end of September. I am 90 SCs away from my next SC bonus. So I need 105 legitimate SCs in the next 6 weeks if I book this weekend to take advantage of double SCs and earn my 50 SC bonus to hit the 255 I need.

What are some good cost-effective SC runs from Sydney at the moment that can get me to this 105?

I want to take advantage of the double status credits. I only have a weekend free and want to spend around 1000$.

Any suggestions? :)

Thanks in advance.

obviously do your own research, but syd-chch overnight run J sale one leg and Y flex the other would get you there at around $5.40/SC

otherwise syd-HKG if you have more time looking cost effective
