Hi all in this thread! I know that the main topic is best value SC in general, but my question is what are the best value SC on QF metal/tickets that have been identified? (ie not the MH stuff in asia or AA in LOTFAP) :)

In recent times? Maybe PER - NOU round trip in business with come connections.

The DPS run when on sale is not bad. Improved further by the 330 being put in that sector.

In recent times? Maybe PER - NOU round trip in business with come connections.
Recently I have found it difficult to price in more than one stop without the price exploding, but I'd love to be corrected :)

It seems the routing/fare rules have been tightened since Jan 25th.

Can you explain what that means in layman's terms please? Just out of curiosity :)

The new rules only allow a connection in BNE or SYD. Previously the rules allowed multiple domestic connections e.g. PER-SYD-BNE-NOU.

Any advice to grab ~200 or so? Cheapest I can see is a AUK>PEK via SYD each way for $600ish. I'm based in Syd so adding another SYD>AUK leg on each way just to get the departing airport seems like an absolute pain.

If you're based in Sydney, the best option to earn 200 status credits would be SYD-BNE-CNS-BNE-SYD on an Economy Flex ticket. Earns exactly 200 status credits for ~$750.

There's a full list of other current DSC runs here: Maximise Double Qantas Status Credits - February 2019

Does anyone know of ex AKL/WLG overnight runs?
I specifically mean one that negates having to stay in a hotel. For example AKL-SYD-HKG appears to be able to do it, are there others?

I can investigate price, just wondering if anyone knows other routing that may work.

WLG-SYD-MEL in J can be done as a same-day return and earns 480 status credits for ~$1,200.

The above is probably the best value, but flying to SIN would also work as the return SIN-MEL leg is overnight and you'd have ~5.5 hours in Singapore between flights. E.g. you could fly AKL-MEL-SIN in the morning (QF152 > QF35) and return on QF38, connecting to QF153.

You saw it here first but topping the list of current cheapest runs at $2.46/SC is AKL-DRW return via an east coast city for ~$1575 and 640 SCs.
