Ok thanks sbor90. Still waiting for AY and Sabre to resolve their differences so I can also book my RTW again this year and if QF do another DSC offer around same time I'll be happy as Larry

Hi All, looking at doing BNE>AKL return do you think that it's possible for a same day turn if I can get it to book? Looking at QF119 arr AKL 14:40 and returning on QF126 Dep 17:20 - I need 150sc to retain platinum.
Thanks

You can quicken up the process even further if you have your return boarding pass and use the International Transfer check point to get back to the departure level in the terminal.

Thanks, the only way it looks like I can book it online is with separate bookings..

Yep got same error too. Asked TA to price up so will see. When looking the repositioning sectors exPER on CX noticed can get all A350 xHKG for 982 (1065 in S) but think this is in N so non upgradable I think. Can you do a points upgrade on CX or does it have to be QF codeshare?

Qantas points upgrades aren't available on non-QF-operated flights.

Having cancelled a trip Syd to LHR I am now going to be short for platinum renewal.
I can't find anywhere that it is official that Qantas will permit a payment of points for a renewal of status
I am looking to need about 600 status credits and have 9 months to achieve . Currently have 180 and two cash trips booked
Based in Sydney but fine to go elswhere.
Appreciate the assistance

Coincidentally, this article just posted might help:

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

I wanted to see the Top End in the wet season (never, never been before), so, a couple of weeks ago I took a JASA up to DRW (via a few other places ) to take advantage of the double-points offer.

MEL-BNE-DRW-BNE-TSV-BNE-DRW-SYD-MEL

Earned 540 SCs: Cost $553.12 + 61,890 points.

(Cost was actually 120,000 points but earned 50,110 points plus an 8000-point loyalty bonus.)

Was upgraded at the Holiday Inn to a Harbour View Suite and had a fantastic time :D
What is JASA?

What is JASA?

Business class ("J") Any Seat Award ("ASA"). A type of ticket Qantas used to offer that allowed you to earn status credits while paying for the seat using points. Qantas phased this out a few years ago and replaced it by the "pay by points" facility, which is nowhere near as good value as the JASA tickets used to be.

How does one book a CBR MEL SYD DPS return in J? Just randomly find a routing that works on Qantas website? I guess this goes for any irregular routing?
Thanks in advance.

Anyone here had any luck booking TPE-xKUL-MNL for 16000 TWD? If so how did you do it? Seeing sketchy availability across a few OTAs and the Malaysia Airlines website is rubbish (the booking engine doesn't even recognise the city pairs they are advertising).

The issue seems to be that, due to the flight times, overnight stops are required in KUL.

I used ITA Matrix to find this itinerary, which is priced at TWD 16,000 + taxes:

By using the multi-city tool on the MH website, I was able to bring up the itinerary.
