Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

Anyone have any ideas for status runs in Asia? I've looked at the suggested TPE-MNL and that would be my base line but was hoping there might be something better. I'd be based out of SGN if my holiday plans to LOTFAP are changed... :(

Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

Completed my run today CNS/SYD/PER/SYD/CNS in J.

Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

Completed my run today CNS/SYD/PER/SYD/CNS in J, had great weekend in Freo. with Mrs iime, red eye out of PER was a killer, some points posted already (inc. 8K bonus) awaiting rest of status to go to WP 1st time.

Great to hear (WP first time) did you do that run on a DSC offer ?
That run is 320SC standard. How many points/cash did it set you back ?

Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

Did BNE-ADL-PER-KTA-PER-MEL-BNE over the weekend.

Was kind of surprised I was the only person who got off at KTA only to get back on again. :)

MEL-PER-KTA return next Monday so I'll emulate your off/on feat.

Did you tell the cabin crew at KTA that you missed your stop?

Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

I recently said to the greeting FA's, with a horrified look on my face, "I am meant to be in Melbourne!" when I re-boarded my turn around SYD-ADL-SYD :D One FA knew what I was doing (status run) and laughed, the other almost had a heart attack LOL ...I'm a bad man hehe

Come do it again Saturday - a certain woolly one will be doing the identical route ;)

Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

You might end up as a wether if you do it too often. ;)

Ha! Luckily my dangly bits never quite developed in the womb ;)

Looking forward to the run - well except the redeye back from PER. Will make sure not to eat anything on Friday so I can fill up! (shouldn't be a problem, Friday night is soccer night = much energy expended = hungry saturday!)

Doing that one on Saturday. How tiring was it? I know of one other AFFer * and booked on those same flights for 800SC (DSC). The only downer is I'll miss the Wallabies/Lions game :(

* and k-sheep makes it three of us doing the BNE-KTA turnaround.

I might get DSC - I'm unsure. I got a DSC offer, but I'm not sure if I registered for DSC before or after I booked the flights (the flights were booked after the DSC offer arrived, I just didn't register for it immediately).

The 400 SCs for the normal flights have already posted. Is it normal for the double SCs to not post until later ?

I needed about a 3hr nap when I got back to Brisbane Sunday morning. With that said, I was sitting in PER for ~5 hours watching movies on my laptop that I could have spent sleeping and if I did I probably would have been fine.

Don't forget your travel pillow like I did ! The headrests on the unrefurbed 737 seats are a bit of a struggle comfort-wise, probably why I didn't sleep much on most of the flights.

Well, first I said that I just didn't like the look of the place. :)

While I was chatting to the crew later I said I felt slightly ridiculous, but I had a fair bit of flying coming up in the next year or two and needed to tip over the line for WP. They said that QF management had told them about "people like you" but that they hadn't personally met any yet.

When I did this last month I bombed up on scotch and crownies at PER. No need for pillow !!

Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

My DSCs posted today - another 400 in the bag. :)

Only 950 to go before LTS ! Should hit that in the first half of next year I reckon - gotta finish my DONE4 and get home from AMM before March.

Me too, had interesting guy next to me in J, we sure got stuck into the scotch PER/SYD red eye flight too.

I see your double SCs have posted but for others' benefit, the most recent offer didn't include a requirement to register prior to travel.

Interesting. I wonder what QF "management" has to say about such folk.

The impression I got was that it wasn't anything bad, just letting them know there might be some people who get off, just to get on again, and not to be concerned about it.
