How about just your LGA-MCO r/t then? You get 180SC's exactly, you don't earn any SC's that you don't need, it's the cheapest overall cost at USD$504 and it's an easy return run.
In Feb, we did LGA > ATL in F on a day trip to boost the Status Credit balance by 180SC.

I guess in the back of my head I'm flexible with the cost, an extra $70 USD for 60SCs seems worth it to me, but you guys aren't mind readers. I'm at 5942 SC currently so every little bit towards LTS helps too. I had a win last night on my PER-xMEL-CNS rt run, as I landed in Melbourne I was asked if I wouldn't mind routing through BNE on a different flight as the MEL-CNS was overbooked, in J on both legs for my inconvenience. Extra SC! That leaves me only needing 140SC out of LGA to clock over.

ATL and MCO on the dates I can travel have gone up since I last posted, I think the decision has been made for me to go to DFW.

Was fishing around today and found HNL-xLAX-LAS-xCLT-DCA-xMIA-PTY-xMIA-JFK-xCLT-xPHX-HNL in F for approx $2390aud, not bad for an even 1000SC, plus ability to get MEL-HNL-MEL dirt cheap with jetstar :)

SYD or MEL to AKL return in F will give 240 QF SC.
Airbus 380 with EK metal but with QF flight number.
Approximately Aud$27xx for the trip.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Will be in PVG in later in the year for work and was looking at some options for status runs. not sure if there is a sale on or not but found

1. PVG to HKG to SGN on CX for CNY$3990/AUD$820, nets 240 SC => $3.41 per SC (price is same for all of Sep 16)
2. PVG to HKG to BKK can also be found for a slightly more CNY$4390 / AUD$890 for 240SC ($3.7 per SC), a better place to spend a few days?
3. PVG to HKG to TPE for CNY$4130 / AUD$850 or 4.25/SC , but can be done in 1 day. BTW. can anyone help with booking this option, CX website doesnt want to give the option of flying to TPE in the morning and flyout on the same afternoon, even though there are plenty of options to do so. Is this a restriction imposed by cathay on all channels? or can i bypass it via a traditional travel agent? thanks

Also, has anyone found better valued status runs out of Asia? any help will be greatly appreciated

AP is this in direct response to something or just a general statement?

either way at over $10/SC it hardly meets the "best QF Status Run Options" thread ideal- but does meet the very nice experience options.

You could also note to those reading along that one is much better off to look for (frequent) ex-NZ sales where the F trip back to SYD/MEL/BNE can be had for around $800 AUD (it varies) which is a much better $/SC earn.

This has been mentioned numerous times in the past but it is difficult to teach an old dog new tricks.

Sometimes I am on iPod and can't link.
Agree with your comment for fares ex NZ in F or J when a sale is on.
Expensive but gives the points needed before end of Jun, but as everyone now knows that a trans Tasman F trip is an expensive option so I won't mention it again.

I have to say though, given the time available and the school holidays in the eastern states coming up, as expensive as the F trip might be, it's not bad of an option if one must earn 220 SC. Personally, I wouldn't do it, but at least the option is there. There may be cheaper options around, but you won't be able to do it in 1 day. If the SC required was somewhere around 100 - 160, I guess there are a lot more ways to achieve it in 1 day, but 220 is a bridge too far, I guess. If anything, the only other options suggested here would still end up as $2k+.

I am not sure about others, but I do not want you to stop contributing your opinion. I believe what makes us a great community is the sharing culture we have (unlike some threads on FT). What I would have liked was to have a definition of what 'best' means in the context of your posts. I would make a guess that in majority of cases in the context of this thread 'best' means optimum value for money (lowest SC per dollar). You might have other metrics, which is fine, but it might be worthwhile to clearly state them as they might be different to the metrics used by the majority here.

If it were me, and my anniversary is end of this month, I would jump in fast to get the SC required.

Although if I have to spend $2000+, I would ask myself if it's worth the expense (and my answer would most probably be a no). But if I was only, say, 80 short, I would definitely be on the plane somewhere too.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Hi guys, hoping someone can help me with a status run from Melbourne, need to get 100 SC between 25/6 - 30/6. Might be optimistic but moving overseas on the 8/7 and want gold before then. My current SC expire end of July.

A flex Y to OOL via SYD will net 80 return, plus a quick return trip to ADL,SYD,HBA,LST etc in discount Y for the other 2x 10 should do it. Might be a bit pricey this close though.

Assuming you having your 4~, you might find it easier (and cheaper) to get the 100 SC outside Oz. Biz (Z class) on MH exBKK is quite effective. One way almost anywhere in SEAsia plus positioning on J* would be more than enough.

Happy wandering

Thanks Fred & Jessica, booked Economy to HKG one way which picks up 40 and will book a Red-eDeal or JQ Plus to OOL

You could try MEL-BNE-CNS in Flex Y for 120 return and do it in a day. Depending on fares available, could possibly be under $800 return.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Hello, need 60 status points in the next month/six weeks to hit platinum. What would be the most economical way to do it? Thanks

Hmmm..
This is a really tough one. Each person's situation and purchase would be different. At times I have done Plan A, at times I have done Plan B. Happy Travels. John.
