If I'm currently on a Seat + Bag fare I believe that is considered discount economy. If I upgrade to "The Works" fare through the Air NZ website will that upgrade to a full economy seat?

No, you also need to choose the flexibility option (I forget what it is called on the NZ website). There is still a small risk it won't book into the right class - I'm having problems with my Dad booking on NZ domestic flights, it seems very hard to get an SC earning class at all.

No, unfortunately, it doesn't. Even if you were to change to Works Deluxe, your booking retains the original fare class, just that you get the extra services on board.

The only way to access a full Y fare class seems to be by adding the "flexibility" option at booking. However, it does explain why NZ offers Works fares at a dramatically lower price than DJ offers Flexi fares - because Works prices the flexibility separately from the service upgrades, whereas DJ bundles them together.

Hi all,

I flew SYD-WLG and AKL-SYD last week booked through Air NZ. I had my DJ details on the BP but I still haven’t received the points or status credits. According to my e-ticket I was booked in X class. Can anyone confirm if this class is even eligible for points and SC’s? Thanks.
