Already flown in one in UA First.
Have a US booking in one in October.

Flew on a new BSI last weekend (DJ1457 MEL-DRW 17 Sep - unfortunately didn't catch the rego.). My comments are:
Business seats - look great, but could do with more leg room.
Divider - I like it. Looks classy and modern, in comparison to curtains on QF.
Row 3 - awesome legroom. It's a shame I'll never get to sit there as a non status flyer.
Seats - comfortable.
Exit Row - Head rest does not have folding flaps/wings.
Lighting - looks better in photos than in real life.
General ambiance - except for the seats and divider, the interior didn't look any newer or modern than any plane I've flown on in the last 10 years. Somehow, Boeing plastics manage to look old even when they're new!
IFE - Needs to be in the back of every seat like the current DJ planes. I ended up watching a movie on a mate's Macbook Air laptop.
In summary, I liked it, but it didn't look as modern as I was expecting and would be much better with IFE in every seat.
Return flight was on a current DJ 737 - it looked tired in comparison, seats weren't as comfortable, but IFE was appreciated.

F.Y.I - Exit row seats with no "flaps" for head rests cant be added due to safety in an emergency
I dont know, thats just how it is, i thought weird at first, but the FA assured me, safety issue. Just must be the way they are or something, or must be there own rule.Is that just a Virgin rule? Qantas have moveable headrests with the folding wings on all seats, including exit rows.
You can see a couple of photos of Qantas exit rows in the below links (scroll through to find them) that show seats with the adjustable headrests:
737: The Blog of Uncle » Sightseeing
747: Qantas - Reviews - Fleet, Aircraft, Seats & Cabin comfort - Opinions with pictures
must be a new 'rule' too...as the older virgin blue (blue leather) seats have flexible headrests in the exit rows!!I dont know, thats just how it is, i thought weird at first, but the FA assured me, safety issue. Just must be the way they are or something, or must be there own rule.
Well there you go, you had a re-fitted interior, not a new aircraft.Flew on a new BSI last weekend (DJ1457 MEL-DRW 17 Sep - unfortunately didn't catch the rego.). My comments are:

I think that someone was having you on Jack :!:I dont know, thats just how it is, i thought weird at first, but the FA assured me, safety issue. Just must be the way they are or something, or must be there own rule.
I can't remember, I'll have to ask my other half, but he was saying that there has been a lot of broken headrests on the BSI 737s..... Because they look like they have foldding wings, yet they actually don't fold. You tend to get a lot of pax trying to curve them inwards (like you do when you want to sleep on them) with enough pressure to snap the headrest.
I don't know why anyone can't design a decent headrest these days ... being fairly tall I have to push them up otherwise I end up with a sore neck, but I reckon about half of those in QF economy don't stay up and about 90% in Business! They are useless...
Haven't had the same problem with the new seats on Virgin, but mind you we'll see how they're going in 6 months time!

F.Y.I - Exit row seats with no "flaps" for head rests cant be added due to safety in an emergency, i know it sounds stupid but that is the reason. It depends how the cabin crew set the lights. IFE coming soon when it is finished and finalised. For some reason your rego would not come up, bit odd as the new -800's have transponders visible to radar's that we can see. But anyway, hope you had a great flight!

This flight was actually operated by a refitted 737 800, rego VHVUV, not a BSI, which was recently dual configured for business class.
Hence the comment about " the interior didn't look any newer or modern than any plane I've flown on in the last 10 years"

Regards to the OP, not all DJ aircraft offer the adjustable head rest, and as per previous post, the aircraft in question, is NOT a BSI but a retrofitted a/c, which came into service in 2010
I have seen adjustable headrests in the exit rows on DJ aircraft

There has been talk of Virgin installing the Panasonic Red entertainment system on its 737s, which is in use on Virgin America and V Australia and Virgin hopes to have a trial Boeing 737 aircraft carrying the product domestically early next year, with the new services rolled out across its entire fleet within 12 months.
Bit of exciting news!
In a quote from an article ill post below:
Article here: Qantas, Virgin Australia aircraft interiors battle | Boeing 737o, do you hope they go ahead and install "Red" across the entire 737 fleet, as well as they already have installed on the 777's and soon a330's?
Virgin is said to be in advanced discussions with a range of suppliers to offer in-flight WiFi for both internet access and media streaming of inflight entertainment to passengers' laptops, tablets or smartphones.
The programs will be beamed wirelessly throughout the aircraft, eliminating the need for Borghetti to refit his entire fleet with costly, new in-flight entertainment players. Those passengers without a device would be offered an iPad for use during the flight.
Hahaha yes, thanks for the point out! But i do hope we get WIFI and red installed on the 737's and the rest of the fleet, it is a great systemHey Jack, thanks for the link. I think "The AGE" has been reading this forum too much. They're having a bet each way and it's far from clear. Here's the paragraph immediately preceeding the one you quoted, which makes both statements seem, well.......like a guess, at best!
Note the wording......
"there has been talk" and;
"Virgin is said to be in discussions"
