Considering most of the WIFI is already in the new ones, the RED install will be the hard part!

Yep, as i said they will install red on a single 737 for a test run, do tests, if they like it we could see them rolled out the entire fleet in under a year :D.

The new Red system, slated for a late 2012 release, includes larger, high-definition touchscreen seatback monitors, full wi-fi connectivity and four times more entertainment content. It will also allow passengers to connect their own electronic devices to the system pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight. “For example, if a passenger did not finish watching a film or TV show in-flight, they could save and download to their iPod and finish at their hotel,” said Abby Lunardini, VP of corporate communications for Virgin America.

That sounds very familiar to the hints we have heard by VA on the new IFE. It has WIFI, and streaming, and we have learnt that they are doing a test run on a 737 of the system next year, and this is being released next year and VA have been in talk with Panasonic. Exciting times ahead!

Also sounds very similar to the streaming system about to be trialled by Qantas!

I am on the brand new 73 for OOL-SYD, love it. I have 1F. Massive amounts of room!!!

On the back of the seats, or behind row 2? I did notice the ones behind row 2 with hangers on them when I was on a BSI on Thursday.

On the side of the backrests, upper RH side - each had a retractable stud. Really wont help row 1 PAX much asrow 2 would natch use row one backs and row 1 has nufin'.

I have some images, I'll upload should the opportunity arise.

J class guests don't need to worry about coat hooks. Simply hand over their jackets to crew :)

I saw that happen a few weeks ago to another pax and they folded the said jacket and stuffed it the overhead locker. After that i decided not to use the "coat check" service and I'll look after my own jacket thank you until all crew know where the hanging racks are!

Hahaha that's hilarious :) thanks for the heads up they aren't touching mine ;)

Was Lucky enough to have new aircraft both ways this week OOL MEL and then MEL OOL. Enjoyed 1A and both flights 1C was blocked out. On the trip home the only spare seat was 1C that was nice. Just improve the food and all will be good. Was advise major changes again in December. Also FA at Door 1 went back to stop econ from disembarking prior to premium and door 2 came to the middle to do the overwings.

Was it a formal Business Class cabin on the 737 or was it a PE on the 737? There is no coat check in PE only "stuffing in the overhead locker"

It was a PE flight, however in a BSI aircraft. Therefore I would expect if they offer to take your jacket they should hang it on a hanger when there is one there for that exact reason! J class or not shouldn't make a difference!

Maybe they were short of actual hangars. I understand the coat rack is a rail, rather than a hook?

When will the next A332 Arrive, How many are coming? And will vh-xfa and xfb be retired when the next two arrive?

Your q would be better on the Virgin Fleet Update thread, this one is for 737s. In answer to your Q

1. No ones heard yet.
2. As many as they can get their hands on.....apparently. Some net research has revealed a 'possible'* 7, with delivery dates around end of next year.
3. no idea.

*Base 100% on pure speculation and a google search. Should not be misconstrued as actual fact or inside information.
