Are any of these planes on PER-MEL or PER-SYD?
Is there any way of finding out which routes or times they are on before I book or is it a case of hit and a miss?
Looks like J seats have airbags on the seat belts? Is that correct? Are they fitted to Y as well?
I would imagine row 3 has them as well.

I imagine this would encompass some sort of an upgrade across the entire fleet.i've gotta say, I've been on one of these on a recent BNE - DRW and I didn't like it one bit - whilst the seats seemed bigger, the lack of IFE was driving me nuts and the new "lighting" gave me a really bad headache.. I'm hoping that this was just a FA that had it set wrong, but it wasn't quite bright enough to see clearly, almost like dusk...

A new type of IFE described as "the best in the pacific" will be revealed and implemented across the entire fleet in the near future.
Where are you getting this from?
