I kinda feel dudded here - flew with the airline (not a lot - but enough), and extended until Feb 23, yet you guys (with some exceptions) did f all, yet extended to July 23.

I'm already qualified through to Feb 24 based on earn, but even so....

I'll be in the corner crying quietly....LOL

Suspecting a majority of Velocity Elites have their status review date as Feb 28th 2023 currently.

I received a physical card last week. The review date is reflected, but in the app it also indicates a 'card expiry' of Mar 31st 2023.

Always been like that with Velocity though. Your status is valid for 13 months but your "membership year" is 365 days - overlap to (kindly) account for late posting of status credits.

Not always. One year my status dropped to gold just 15 days after the review date.

I had bookings which at 25 days would requalify me WP.

But for those 10 days I travelled as an SG having expected to still be a WP still under "review", with corresponding loss of status bonus points earn.

The "strategy" I was using went out the window after that episode.

I attained Platinum with Virgin in 2019 and wifey attained gold. We haven't flown with Virgin since then because they stopped flying our preferred route during the administration phase but we keep getting status extensions and now extended till June 2023. Managed to get Qantas gold as well with the status match/pilot program (also with extensions). Who knew maintaining WP would be this easy?

Keen to get back into the air and WP lasting till next year will certainly make me choose VA over QF where possible.

Thanks to the bonus SC promotions, I've already re-qualified for WP after 2 months into my new membership year!

I got an email yesterday that my gold is extended for another 12 months. My review date is 11/06/22.

Mum is a silver, review date in June and also got a 12 month extension.

I got one that said this and thankfully I did as I was going to drop to silver.
Will come in handy with two USA trips planned in the next 12 months

My activities -

March thru June 21 - Travelled paid 2x J for the discover gold program

June 21 - bought Virgin wines

July, October 21 - Some fly buys credits

December 21 - 4x paid J seats over Christmas period. Also redeemed 49K points plus pay for this

March 22 - 1x MEL-CBR Y redemption

April 22 - mate that I gifted gold to is flying SYD-SIN-MAA on SQ. Paid Y

Question : if my Gold is extended, will the extension apply to my mate, whom I gifted gold as well?

Hmm I wonder whether you have met those earn criteria that others were challenged with via email (eg 5k points) so were approved automatically.

I might hold off a bit longer before attempting the transfer in the hope I'll get a random extension like you have (date July, one flight last June if I recall correctly).

Nope, I haven’t been shopping at Coles much to earn a lot.
I think I may have transferred maybe 2K
I also forgot I’ve got a redemption flight in May for the family to go to QLD but other than that nothing else.
I was pleasantly surprised.

That's weird... my mum got her status extended for another year without even having to do any of the above. I was surprised she suddenly got an email about it.

So yeah, same here!

I've started a little bit of flying again (although only domestically) and I am currently only platinum through to Feb 2023, while mum who has not been on a plane for 3 years will now be platinum for longer than me ...and I gifted mum platinum in the first place!

Hasn't left WA since COVID. Minimal. 7 or 8 intra-WA work related sectors in 2020, nothing in 2021.
