Will be keeping a close eye on this with a review date in July, ideally if i get the points challenge can do a flybuys transfer while there's the 15% bonus. But don't want to transfer if my account isn't eligible, or get a challenge to do it later and have no fb points left to do it with!

Gold and Platinum tiers have never been easier or cheaper to obtain or maintain IMO.

Can maintain Platinum for under $1500 and Gold for easily under $1k

Exactly .. anyone who cannot breeze it in, with a these double SC to end June, which have applied for most of this year really has no real interest in higher status and certainly does not deserve having it.

Fly the airline, give them some money, and you get some status. Or do not. Simple option!

The last two years of auto status extensions are finally over this year folks. Virgin are trying to run a business.

No, received "your Gold Status will be extended" additional 12 months email.
Email does note;
"Please note: We will be applying your 12 month extension on 1 June 2022 and this may be after your current review date. You may see varying dates in your Velocity account whilst we process this change. Rest assured that you will still have access to your Gold Status membership benefits while we are adding the extension to your membership."

Came here to say similar. Hubby was renew 23rd Feb 2023 and now showing June 30th 2023.

He wont make Platinum renew by that date but we're not going to be chasing status anymore

Never received any contact about this promotion (I did reach out to ask if i was eligible but never got a response) but logged in this morning to notice gold extended to new review date on 30 Jun 2023.

Ditto. I wasn’t expecting any update until my review date in Sep but my account now is also showing a new review date of 30 Jun 2023 (with card Exp July 2023). So not the full 12 mths the June/July peeps have just received but happy given that I’ve not stepped foot on a VA flight for quite some time.

From memory my Gold status expires around beginning of October. Currently showing review date 28 February 2023.

Just got my Va Plat extended by another 12 months because of this offer which I didn't even know about! ....fulfilled the criteria by fortunately TFering more than 5K Va pts from Flybuys!

There have been 2 years of that already. For good reason. However, the Free Ride was long over I'd have assumed. :( LOTS of Elites will not bother to spend money and fly if status keeps getting extended for near zero effort. THAT costs Virgin money. I've racked up about 1200 Status credits...
