Double Points and DSC [Book by 8/9/17, fly by 6/9/18]

For anyone wondering why they didn't receive the DSC targeted offer (like me), I just realised on the bottom of my husbands email offer (he was lucky) in fine print it says:
You have received this email because you are subscribed to Qantas Frequent Flyer 'Flight specials, news and updates' emails. To unsubscribe from 'Flight specials, news and updates' emails only, click here

I checked my QFF mail subscription preferences and realised even though I'd ticked the box for 'Exclusive offers for Qantas Frequent Flyer Members', and all the other options, I didn't have "Flight specials, news and updates' checked. Bummer! Must have opted out at some stage, unwittingly.

Could this be the reason why?
Don't think so. I'm subscribed to "Flight specials, news and updates" and didn't get an email...

As a WP sitting on almost 3000 status credits have not received anything.....

Your Ansett :p

The DSC don't count towards P1 ....... meaning please correct me, once you hit platinum the rest has to be earned normally to reach P1. ?

Appreciate explanation

It doesn't count towards the Loyalty Bonuses or Platinum One Loyalty Bonuses. I can't see earning P1 itself excluded in the T&Cs unless I'm missing something?

thanks .........Oh ............those loyalty bonuses that aren't worth anything really disappointing( cannot get an upgrade) and P1 loyalty bonuses are worth something but harder to come by.

I am WP with anniversary at the end of January and have enough forward bookings to retain WP and got both double points and DSC

Hi Marki

As mviy has said the DSC offer will apply to earning P1 just not P1 Loyalty bonuses. I have ben P1 before and seriously not sure it is worth it. I have all my flights booked for the rest of the year which are going to get me to Star Gold so it would mean doing a status run and I am unsure as to whether the minimal benefits of P1 is worth the spending the money needed to secure it.

quick question, do the actual bookings have to be done through qantas.com or can I use a travel agent?
reason why I ask is that ex-AKL there are good I fares to SFO/LAX for ~4500 NZD which net 520 SC return and I need to get to NYC next may anyways
however the fares aren't available on qantas.com despite being filed and accessible through a travel agent

You can book through a TA

You can book through a TA

The only thing to be careful about is that the TA tickets it within the specified time frame.

Give them specific written instructions that it must be ticketed within required dates and the consequences of it not being ticketed in that time frame.

Got an email from QF this morning but it wasn't about DSC. So I guess the email's probably not coming unfortunately. Hopefully this targeted offer doesn't prevent a global DSC offer being made next year.

Still nothing overnight.
I have all those preferences set.

Fingers crossed perhaps they are going to do another round for everyone else soon.

I dont think it is generic, given there is no opportunity to enter an email or QFF number once you click the link.

Luckily I don't need to requal for next 18 months but a delayed booking for post April 2018 would set me up nicely for the future. Nothing like planning ahead.

We havent planned any travel for next year as we're not sure when the house will be done, but this offer has me pondering some options...

Spoken like a true FF'er. But maybe next year is the year of the Home.

I will retain WP from the offer earlier this year so I'll still be O.K. not having this targeted offer.

I still think a week relaxing by the beach might be beneficial. There will probably be a few NZ weekends as well to make the most of WP while we have it.

Oh yes. Of course - not much point having that and no travel.

Well I did get an offer today from Qantas. To get a toaster for fewer points. Nup.
