Do you also receive the loyalty bonus (8000 points or 50 status credits) on this offer? E.g. I am looking at MEL-BNE-CHC-BNE-MEL for a total of 560 credits (280x2). Will I then get to choose the 50 bonus credits loyalty bonus bringing the total to 610?

Just answered my own question: Any bonus Status Credits earned from other offers will not contribute towards the Loyalty Bonus

That's interesting. I have some bonus status credits already and QANTAS is counting those towards what I need to get the next loyalty bonus according to what they're advising me on the account page.

I know loyalty bonuses don't count towards subsequent loyalty bonuses i.e. you reach 500 SC on QF, take 50 SC bonus to get to 550 SC and still need 500 more SC on QF to get the next bonus. So your tally would then need to reach 1050 SC (assuming all on QF) to get the next bonus.

I guess if you had a problem with your TA's booking you could say that you booked it through a TA and think perhaps their systems won't allow a FF number to be added till afterwards. I think with booking it during the window and adding the FF number still within the promo you should be fine.

Has anyone got any good runs out of AKL? I need 320SC's to qualify for WP. At this stage I can do AKL-DRW return for about $1900 which will get me there without a DSC. But if I can book something for cheaper that nets 160SCs as a base then that would be great? Any ideas? I don't see any ex-AKL sale fares at the moment.

If you partake the DSC offer, J to MEL return (NZ$1600) on the same day will net you the required amount of SC to qualify for WP. Other option is 1 way whY to MEL and a J via BNE to CHC and a domestic back to AKL. Long way and require a night in BNE. Not sure the saving justify the time needed for this run though. Alternatively if you still have time, wait for a sale fare. DRW is always there for the same rate you are seeing now should you need to take it then.

Re: 2 x SC for all! (Book by 6th Mar, Travel Mar 17-Feb 19, '18)

Two questions:

· Are flights operated by Qantas - Jetconnect eligible for this double SCs offer? I wanna reach Silver during this membership year and have 45 SCs already, short of 255 SCs, and I'm considering booking a business class from SYD to CHC (which earns 160 SCs = 80 SCs * 2), and fly economy Flex back (with Melbourne or Brisbane in between, to earn 120 SCs = 60SCs * 2). The ticket prices are ~AU$829 and ~NZ$560, respectively.
· Can I use Points + Pay when booking the tickets? Will I be still eligible for the double SCs offer if I use some or all points (26000ish) when placing the orders? Chances are that I won’t use these points in booking, but I’m asking this mostly out of curiosity.

Answers are much appreciated. It’s the last day of the double SCs offer already, so I need to hurry.:)

Reading the T&C's behind the offer is very instructive (bolding is mine):

  • Make a new booking on an eligible Qantas operated domestic or international flight; or Emirates operated flight with a Qantas flight number between Australia and New Zealand.

Important information:
You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member to earn Qantas Points. A joining fee may apply. Membership and Qantas Points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program Terms and Conditions.
~ The double Status Credits offer is valid when you register and make a new booking on an Eligible Flight between 12.01am (AEDT) 2 March 2017 and 11.59pm (AEDT) 6 March 2017, for travel between 2 March 2017 and 19 February 2018. An Eligible Flight for the purpose of this promotion means any Qantas operated flight with a QF flight number on the ticket where Status Credits are normally earned, excluding Classic Flight Rewards and any flight with a QF flight number on the ticket which is not operated by Qantas including Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, Valuair, Jetstar Japan, Jetstar Pacific and other partner airlines except for a Qantas marketed flight operated by Emirates between Australia and New Zealand with the following flight numbers: QF8764, QF8763, QF8762, QF8761, QF8770, QF8771, QF8766, QF8765. See the Airline Earning TablesThis link will open in a new window. for details. Your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number must be recorded at the time of registration and booking to earn double Status Credits. Qantas may extend or withdraw the offer. Each passenger in the same booking must register to qualify for this bonus offer. Flights are subject to availability and any applicable fare conditions. Flights can be booked via qantas.com, a travel agent or Qantas Contact Centres. Fees may apply. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other bonus offer by Qantas. Only one double Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary. However, double Status Credits may be earned on multiple eligible flight bookings if you book and travel within the promotional dates as listed above. If you qualify for multiple offers, the offer first-registered for will be applied to each individual qualifying segment. Full or part travel of an itinerary is eligible only if you book and travel within the promotional dates as listed above. If you change or cancel your initial qualifying booking and/or travel is completed outside the promotional period, this bonus offer will not apply. Bonus Status Credits may take up to 6 weeks after completion of your travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

Re: 2 x SC for all! (Book by 6th Mar, Travel Mar 17-Feb 19, '18)

Thanks. Actually I've read the Tc&Cs but seen no mention of Qantas - Jetconnect, hence the questions above. I just googled "Qantas - Jetconnect" and found it's a subsidiary of QF, essentially Qantas NZ, so the flight from CHC back to SYD can be regarded as Qantas operated domestic or international flight I think. There should be no problem booking a flight back from CHC to SYD on the Qantas NZ website, but I decided I should go to bed first and see if after a long sleep I still have the impulse to do this status run, which is something I've never done before. I've long been a credit card-aholic and now I'm kinda addicted to frequent flyer stuff, lol.

We picked up sale pricing for Perth to New York in J, business rewards points and normal flight points plus 2 points per dollar off an Amex card for a $70 CC fee. I like double status credits to hold onto Platinum status on a trip we like doing.

It would be a bit weird if EK flights trans-tasman were included but QF flights weren't.

It would be a bit weird if EK flights trans-tasman were included but QF flights weren't.

They'd describe that weirdness as an enhancement perhaps.

Regarding the purchase of vouchers...I note that the T&Cs require "Your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number must be recorded at the time of registration and booking to earn double Status Credits. However, you can't add your FF number to voucher for the PAX, only the person buying it can. If you try to MMB, it just takes you straight to the search page. Anyone experience this issue and it cause problems?
You add the FF number (and can change names) when applying the voucher to flights.

So far, for me, it has not stopped bonus SC earn when doing so.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

I'm trying to take advantage of this DSC to book a flight to the US in early FEb'18..am not returning any QF codeshare's with AA, but strangely am being offered UA flights, at a price that is equivalent to the AA prices..

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere - have been away from AFF for a while.
