Hey just noticed this offer, it this looks like quite a good deal. Any ideas of good SC runs to take advantage?

Canberra based and need 1360 SC to qualify WP. I don't want to spend too much, can I use a classic any seat award on Jetstar ?

Yes, book the run Sam is doing in post 408. You'll pick up two status bonuses along the way which you can convert to the 100SC that you need to hit 1360.

Re: Double SC for all! (Book until COB 6th Mar, Travel Mar 2017 - Feb 19, 2018)

For a short day trip in J, have you noticed the special to Tasmania announced today, travel until 22-Sep-17. It means you'll have to hurry to book by 23:59 tonight to also incorporated the DSCs. There's no non-stop ADL-HBA flights.
ADL-MEL-HBA $699 one way, 320SCs rtn, $4.37/SC
ADL-SYD-HBA $707 one way, 320SCs rtn, $4.42/SC
MEL-HBA $549 one way, 160 SCs rtn, $6.86/SC
SYD-HBA $599 one way, 160SCs rtn, $7.49/SC
SYD-MEL-HBA $930 one way, 320SCs rtn, $5.81/SC
PER-MEL-HBA $1399 one way, 480SCs rtn, $5.83/SC

I've gone with a SYD-MEL-HBA return day trip in J. Not the best value of all the status runs, but the 320 SCs will put me just over the line to renew WP by the end of the year, based on past travel patterns, and assuming no work long haul J travel (operating environment a little tough this year). Good spot comforttravel - many thanks!

Is this suggesting that a voucher purchased during the qualifying booking period and then not redeemed until say a month later would earn DSC? Or am I missing the point of people buying vouchers?

Exactly,you have 1minute left!

Well I have booked a couple of flights I needed this evening. So I guess QF have got my money a bit earlier than they otherwise would have.

 Yowza! Did you book this routing online on the site as a multicity?

Tried, but required use of a TA.

Some believe that to be the case but it's not a given.

Well the vooucher booking process made this hard. Signed in but it still didn't populate the form with any of my information.
Booked one, didn't bother trying for a second.

Doesn't require sign-in and is really easy to fill in once you're in a rhythm. I booked 12 in a row earlier today. The names don't even need to be accurate as you can freely change the name.

I have bought a $150 voucher, but won't actually book a flight till later in Apr/May.
Plan to make it on another CHC about end of Sep this year.
Can't believe $9xx can get me to NZ in one way J, and yet for PER - MEL/SYD/BNE in one way J, its $19xx!
Will see then if the DSC does work with the voucher system.
My voucher has a 6 alphanumeric PNR, so if this sticks as the PNR for my planned trip, then the voucher system would most likely work with the DSC.
Cash dry at the moment.

I mistakenly thought signing in would prepopulate the form as it does when you make a booking but obviously a different work experience kid designed that web page.

In a sale $9xx can get you one way in F!

I think it's more of a case that they haven't worked their 'magic' on it yet :p

Wonder if QF's systems still use GMT time i.e. even though offer says AEDT use those dates but for the GMT Timezone instead to decide which flights automatically qualify for DSC.

No.

DSC's will credit for any flight departing on the last day of the promo (ie Feb 19, 2018) local time of departure. thus a FEB 19th LAX-MEL would be fine.

No, because the intent of the Gift Vouchers are to... gift them thus while you can specify a name and email address of the recipient (in this case, yourself) the actual pax names are not populated because:

a) there is no actual booking at the time of purchase, just a "dummy"
b) You can specify whatever name you like as the voucher recipient, it only is important when flights are purchased/booked with the voucher to give the info

in order words, like any other sort of gift voucher or card, you can give it to your mum, but she might book a flight for your sister with it.

So, there's no reason to populate anything at the time of purchase except the amount as the rest should be blank until used - much like a JB Gift Card you'd give to someone to buy what they wanted, you don't specify "this is a Rod Steward DVD for Dad" :D

and just because you may put your own name in the voucher recipient field, qantas.com has no reason to automatically pull your FF info into it - as per above it may not get used by the person named.

Now if you REALLY want you can get QF to add your FF# to the PNR of the voucher so it shows in your bookings list and so on though there's really no need at the point prior to actually booking flights with one.

And while the implementation of the voucher system is a total kludge on top of amadeus, I don't feel this particular design set up is one you can pin on those poor work experience kids who cop a lot (most of it justified) :D

IMHO anyway.

You do realise these are totally different markets with different levels of competition, demand and supply right?

You simply cannot equiate distance, levels of service offered, equipment etc with price.

I wonder whether QF will be happy with the dollar numbers they've got...they scored another 2 x $50 vouchers from me (just to see if they do work). They got an extra $750 in revenue from me.

Well now we can all turn our attention to actually flying the routes we have been discussing.

Who has the booking that will be flown the latest in the promotion?

I hope that my DSC will come through without any issues, as I've booked just before 11.59pm but the e-ticket is dated 7th March.

Well stocked with vouchers, will hold out for awhile and see if the year shapes up enough for a return to WP
