Double SC for all! (Book until midnight 6th Mar, Travel Mar 2017 - Feb 19, 2018)

they scored another 2 x $50 vouchers from me (just to see if they do work).

I'm still receiving DSCs from $50 gift vouchers from last year's promo. Actually still have one left, with the DSC travel period ending on 16 April 2017.

As yet no reason to think it will be different this year, but those with a large number/value of vouchers at stake might be a little nervous until the first confirmed success.

I hope that my DSC will come through without any issues, as I've booked just before 11.59pm but the e-ticket is dated 7th March.

i have the same concern, and i paid with points. please keep me updated.

I didn't make up my mind until the final 15 minutes. My QF flights are not until May, June and July and were booked in that order, between 11.45pm and 11.59pm, so any issues will be some months away. All 3 x e-tickets are dated 7th March.

I've added it to the wiki now, so I don't mind sharing... 1260 SC.

OOL-MEL-PER-BNE-MEL-SYD-NOU-SYD-MEL-BNE-PER-MEL-OOL !!

this is great and how much in total? also how the ticket was issued? all segments on two tickets or 1 ticket?

from my experience PER-BNE-MEL-SYD-NOU-SYD-MEL-BNE-PER 1st ticket
OOL-MEL-PER-MEL-OOL on 2nd ticket

The positioning OOL-MEL-PER-MEL-OOL flights are on a separate PNR.

Hmm so can an agent use a voucher to book something similar to Sam's routing??

Question here
1. Can i buy the voucher during promotion period but redeem the voucher later and travel within the validity of the DSC promo and get the DSC bonus??
2. i made a booking but the ticket was issued on 7MAR2017, will i still qualify for the DSC bonus?

I didn't end up doing any vouchers but I may be brave enough next time. I have also been reminded to include the tier bonus SCs (whatever they're called) from this thread so I may end up cancelling or changing dates of two of the flights I booked as it will be a waste of SC's and just sit back and wait for another QF or VA J sale. All in all, not a bad promo and QF managed to drag over $4k out of me before time, so I guess it suits them as well. My goal of attaining WP for the first time with QF will also be realised, though I'm not exactly sure just how valuable that will turn out to be, but I'm working on the basis that I'll never know unless I try it!

I suspect timing of the ticket number is irrelevant, it is the creation date of the "Passenger Name Record" that has been important.

If you obtained a 6 character PNR locator before midnight then it should be eligible for double SC if used for eligible QF travel on or before Feb 19th.

Last time I think the computer system used GMT(?) even though the terms said AEDT(?). So bookings in the early hours of the day after the booking window closed may still have got DSC whereas bookings in the early hours of the day the booking window opened may have required manually ringing up to get them credited 6 weeks after the flights.

I think you should be fine.

So who is travelling first? Mine is Thursday week.

There is zero evidence of this that I have seen. Do you have any proof? The promotions have clearly said (both years) 11:59pm AEDT (well it was AEST last year) - basically Sydney time.

Unlike the case of eligible flights for earning (which GMT is irrelevant to, given it's based on local date/time of departure of the flight not GMT nor Zulu) the eligibility periods are very clear.

Also note the promotion disappeared off the QF.com main website within minutes of midnight passing :)

Re those with a ticketing date of 7 March - this is a curly one - it all depends on the PNR creation date. If it was set up on 06MAR but ticketing took some time that's where this was coming from.

Rather than waiting and hoping I'd *call* QF and verify what THEY think the booking date is for the purposes of the promo and, if need be, plead a delay in ticketing of a last minute booking and see if they might document the PNR or otherwise confirm that it would earn.

If one waits till June or something post flights it may be harder.

my 2 cents on this anyway.

Im sure there were issues last year (or at least previously) for people who booked when the promotion first commenced due to time zone issues.
