Grrr. So I have a flight booked MEL to LAX June 4 returning June 24...

If I get that email.. Cancel and rebook ?

No email here. :( another targeted offer with no rhyme or reason if people on all levels are getting it.

I got it, and I am *RED* ! lol
I hope it applies to my trip the USA which is in <2 weeks... the terms and conditions make it seem like it wont :(

Terms and Conditions
*This offer is only available to the member who has received an email promoting the offer from Velocity and is not available to any other members. To be eligible for the bonus Status Credits promotion, you must activate this offer online between 12.01am AEST 31 March 2016 until 11.59pm AEST 14 April 2016 inclusive (‘Promotion Period’). You must ensure that you have activated the offer prior to travel to receive double Status Credits. During the Promotion Period you must also book an eligible flight and enter your Velocity membership number, which must match the number identified in this communication. Eligible flights are flights for travel between 1 April 2016 and 30 June 2016 inclusive, that are marketed and operated by Virgin Australia and booked in a fare class that is eligible for Status Credits accrual . Codeshare flights marketed or operated by Velocity’s other partner airlines are excluded from this offer. Velocity Reward Seat bookings are also excluded. Bonus Status Credits will be applied to the originally purchased fare class and any upgrades will not attract additional Status Credits. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other bonus Status Credits offer by Velocity Frequent Flyer and/or Virgin Australia. For multiple guests listed on the same booking, only Velocity members who have received and activated this offer will be eligible to earn bonus Status Credits. Normal Velocity rules apply to retrospective claims which must be raised within 6 months from the date of flight.

It will only work if you activated the offer today and made a booking today. Any existing bookings won't apply unfortunately

Dang. That's how I interpreted it too.
I was planning a trip to see some mates in Newcastle... might have to book it now :)

What I *don't* see is how it affects family pooling. If Mrs. deva flies with me and pools to me, do they double the SCs when it gets pooled to me?

The next sentence is the important one Book during the promotion period.

Promotion period is 31 March to 14 April - Could've activated/booked yesterday as well. Travel period from 1 April.

Pretty sure it is based on the earning rights of the donor not the receiver. If they are eligible for double then you should get double. Otherwise, NO.

Only if she received the offer and activated it as well

No, that would only be the case if Mrs Deva also received the double SC offer - otherwise it only applies to the SCs on the flights YOU earn, not any SCs that are pooled to you.

ETA: I see others beat me to it LOL

Pretty sure all emails from VFF have name, VFF number and points balance.

I'd say it's targeted because I know a few WP's that have not received it. I havent received it and have to book a trip to BKK and MNL in mid-June, double SC would've been a great start to my next year

Email subject line was "Your exclusive fast-track to Platinum membership", so I would say it is targeted at Gold members. At the moment I'm only on 220 SC's with my year ending at the end of September.

My subject line states:
✈ Your exclusive fast-track to Gold membership
so I presume they are targeting certain FF's who are within a certain % of the next tier. I'm at 315 SC's needing 500 for Gold, and I only have 60 SC's falling off on 22 May, so this could be achievable. As I've already registered, just got to make the bookings in the eligibility period (by 14 April) and ensure flights are in their separate eligibility period (1 April to 30 June) with the proviso I need to have 500 by 21 May.

Looks as if i will hit Plat by a mere 10 SC's the day before a big points expiry..........a few extra's would have been a nice buffer!

I got this offer as well, wished I got it a few weeks ago when I was booking flights.

Seems to be targeted a little though, as I am only 60SC from Silver.

Yippee, I got the "exclusive fast-track to Silver membership" email too so very happy! Switched flights over to VA from QF this year, and am on 140 SC (via family pooling) since Sep 2015 with 80 SC in forward bookings Apr ~ July 2016 to come. This will come in very handy to tip me over the line to silver by end of Aug 2016 and now wondering if we should aim for gold via this offer (I have a paid lounge subscription via employer so there's $300 in the kitty to spend on flights to hit gold LOL). Will now have to watch the MR thread a little more closely!

Hmm, joining the group that is experiencing FOMO... I'm PS that could tip into SG with this offer. I'd actually consider a status run with this offer!

Wonder if calling up VA and asking for it would work?

Would be no use ... VA operated only

Must be targeted at reds/silver. About to attain plat with no email and my partner is about to retain gold and she hasn't had an email either.

Milefest - I'm a PS with only 130 SCs to SG and I didnt get any email :(

That's unfortunate, difficult to know who they're targeting.. Any hope of attaining gold this year?

... difficult to know who they're targeting..

Certainly appears to be aimed more toward Red/Silver, although as usual, the targeting seems to be a bit all over the place. Neither my husband or myself received the email - we're both SG, neither of us have earned any SCs yet since requalifying, although between us, we have a couple of upcoming trips booked that will net quite a few SCs. I'll have enough to requalify but he won't, so a double SC offer would have been ideal to help him get over the line.
