Double SC offer

But with the double SC's wouldn't it be 40sc per flight? So $3.25 each?

What double SC's? Is there an offer?

If you mean double because you are flying Flexi fare, it doubles from 10 per flight to 20 per flight. Then to 40 per flight in business, up to a flight distance of 750 miles.

My apologies, I posted this in the wrong thread. Yes there is an offer at the moment, see the 'Double SC Offer' thread in the Velocity forums here.

Email subject line was "Your exclusive fast-track to Platinum membership", so I would say it is targeted at Gold members. At the moment I'm only on 220 SC's with my year ending at the end of September.

That makes me laugh. VFF sent this to me on April 1st as you all received (if targeted). My date is April 6th. I basically would have uad to got on a plane same day or next to push to the next level. Lucky me though, status run on the 1st and status changed on the 5th yay.

I'm thinking about booking a Flexi fare for the double SCs, but I may need to change flights at a later date (I'll only know for sure after the end of the double SCs promo period). Does anyone know whether I would still get the double SCs if I booked now, then changed the date/time of the flight later (assuming the new flight is still before 30 June)?

This was the VFF Rep's answer last time someone asked this during a previous promotion. http://www.australianfrequentflyer....riple-points-promotion-65068.html#post1169502

Can't guarantee the same will apply this time. YMMV but good luck.

Is this an April fools joke....note emailed 1 April.

If not why don't we all get onto Velocity and ask where is our email with double SC's?

I struggle to maintain my gold status each year (often have to upgrade one flight just before my update day for the extra points).
I didn't get the offer.
They've done the maths.

Yes, you're now in that thread (having been moved from the promo thread)

But if you've asked the question, then I'd suggest you haven't been targeted as you'd have the email and would have registered.

Awesome, going to book my next 3 trips by the deadline on 14th (MEL, PER and SYD) and all will be in May/June. Combined with the promo codes, Flexi fares rather than Saver, so the SC's will be rolling in - time to get back to Gold quickly.

Spent some $ today (but saved a bit with the promo codes from that thread) - but all double SC's :D. BNE/MEL/BNE & BNE/MEL/PER/BNE (all Savers) should get me back to Gold. By my count [(15+15) x 2 + (15+20+20) x 2 = 170]. Add that to the 315 in the bank, I'll need just another 15 to re-qual Gold. Will have another BNE/MEL/BNE to do in June, so many thanks to VA for the love - I have repaid you in spades this week ($3K in fares when I add my family CNS holiday)

Can confirm the offer works and isn't delayed forever with posting additional status credits. I flew PER-DRW on Monday on a flex ticket and received my 80 status credits (rather than 40 standard haul) in a lump sum payout yesterday.

Thank you for the confirmation scottz95 , that'a a lot better than some offers where ones must wait 4-8 weeks after the end of the promo period ;)

Peeved I couldn't take advantage of the offer and so nearly bagged myself a couple of hundred points. Alas a work meeting was relocated to Sydney, didn't get commitment of a date for another until this afternoon and the VA flights to and from Auckland did not suit the times I needed :(

I received the double SC offer and couldn't resist booking three trips in May / Jun involving OOL, MEL and LST to tip me over the edge to Gold. With a work 10% off code and 5% Ent Book voucher I was able to book a combination of flexi and business fares - for two positioning flights, I used QF points to get me to both MEL and LST so I could maximise my spend for the lucrative SC earn flights (e.g. OOL/SYD/MEL for $588 in business for 160 SC). I have to pay for lounge access through my work scheme so there was a few hundred dollars in the budget to do this.

I work a 9 day fortnight so my trips are planned for every 2nd Friday for the next 6 weeks. I'm quite fortunate that my mum has a unit opposite OOL Airport which will come in handy to overnight there for two of the runs. The most challenging aspect of all was explaining to my other half that I was doing this - but I think he finally gets it now (liking the idea of using the premium entry facility in Sydney!!) and we get a weekend away in Melbourne plus I can stock up on some nice Tamar Valley wines when I do my LST run!

I'm jealous I didn't receive this offer! Although currently Silver, I'll be 35 SC off Platinum in September with my current bookings (before more start dropping off).

Platinum's still only a short status run away ;)

Head off for my first double SC trip tomorrow (BNE/MEL/BNE) so hoping to see 60 SC's post by Monday next week. Will report back

I got the offer on April 1st, after my status rollover on March 28. I thought it was something to do with that. So starting with zero credits I was able to book 3 work flights (MEL-SYD and MEL-PER) for the next couple of months that should get me halfway to retaining Gold at least. The email was about fast track to platinum but I think that will still be unlikely.
