Great post Red Roo, appreciate the early "heads up", nice to know so many like me can slightly delay their bookings to take advantage of this great offer...

You can change your Any Seat Award booking online here. This can only be done in accordance with the fare conditions (provided to you at the time of booking) which also set out applicable change and service fees which must be paid in money.

That won't work as, 1) it results in a change to an existing booking and,
2) changing a mASA online will not bring up mASA rates - it would cost $$$.

Best practice is (if you have enough points and mASA availability exists) to book a new one, then call up and cancel the existing booking (assuming there are no cancellation fees).

Changing a JASA is not going to help, the OP would need to cancel, get a refund and rebook, hopefully while there is still classic award availability, none of which can be done online (unless you want a $$$ voucher that makes gift cards look like great value redemptions). Historically J domestic redemptions have had no fees on cancellation.

Apologies timmitch. I'll stick my training wheels back on. Thanks mods for the quick pick up.

just booked a jasa this wk - darn!
also when I tried to use gift voucher and or customer care voucher as part payment both were declined as T&C indicate not multi city, classic or any seat booking
so wont be buying any vouchers this xmas for anyone

Yes not sure why this forms part of the T&Cs, money is money....

It was probably not deemed cost effective to program an online multi Segment voucher redemption function - one way and return are the only options.

At least these still employ the old (pre June) look and feel.

I agree - QF vouchers aren't easy to redeem - silly conditions (cant use multiples as part of booking either)- particularly when you think to offer them as wedding gifts

I will book a new one on the 1st if still available and cancel the other. I made sure at time of booking it was refundable at no charge when I booked it. Thanks for the help.

To the person that got it wrong but was trying to help thanks also I wasn't a were of that either

I've never used my Qantas cash card, neither the VA Global Wallet....

I'm actually suprised to hear you using the card medhead, struggling to work out the reason for that unless you are OS at the moment I guess... As "most" of us here have a 1:1 or better earning card the only benefit of both the Qantas & VA cads if pretty much for travelling, or reducing the booking fees when booking flights.

I loaded $250 for the 500 bonus points. Was going to just withdraw it. But at "The Plaza" Christmas shopping, when SWMBO tells me that she left her black Amex at home, and only has a 1point/$ card, as we were planning to separate the shopping attack. I had a bit of a rush of blood, thought qantas cash was now onto 2 points/$ and handed that over for her to use. Ultimately, I haven't lost anything, but missed the double points promo.

its only 1 point for dollar overseas isn't it? In australia it is 1 point for $2 and that would make it only 1 point per $ for normal transactions even during the promo. I get more on my nab amex

I agree. During the promotion the qantas cash card has the same earn as other 1:1 cards, but I wont be using mine as its too much work mucking around with the load process.

I didn't get to do my usual DONE5 this year so I'm a touch short of SCs. No worries now that the double SC deal is on - an extra 400 SCs for a day of flying puts me comfortably just over the 1200 SCs, so I'll remain WP for the next DONE5 in May 2014 - this couldn't have worked out more perfectly!

I'm confused. Is the QCash promo offering double points earn on the QCash card, ie. For Qantas flight bookings it goes from 1pt:$1 bookings to 2pts:$1 on bookings and other spend is unaffected.

I initially read this promo as double points earned as miles on any flight booked using a QCash card. But the $spend calculation makes more sense as it is contained to the QCash program.
