Just got the DSC email. :) Haven't had one for at least 2 years. Now, where to go?

If you had an existing booking and then received the DSC can you cancel and rebook?

Hmm, I'm missing out on the DSC goodness. How does QF select those "needy" of the extra status?

Maybe check your profile and ensure you have the appropriate offers ticked?

Yes you can, but there may be cancelation penalties to consider.

Thanks Jessica. I think the DSC might be worth it.

It's a sort of. If you receive a voucher and then use the voucher to rebook, the voucher will have a creation date outside of the original offer period, and thus wont be eligible. You need the booking ref to have been created within the offer period, which usually rules out gift vouchers (without a lot of fighting) and a cancel/rebook scenario. Of course, if you cancel and get a refund to your credit card, that's a different story, but pretty sure you need a very expensive ticket for that privilege :(

Cheers for bringing that up, looks like I had a stoke of luck come my way. Just got off the phone to cancel a booking I'd made yesterday after receiving my first DSC offer this morning (great timing...), but had troubles with the voucher coming through - and thinking it'd still be entitled to the DSC offer. Rang up to see what was going on, and the lady took the easy fix and just processed a refund on a non-refundable fare :D The discussion here is amazing, all the different techniques never cease to amaze me!

Never having received this, QF are holding off until my membership clicks over at the end of this month.

Hint, hint .... QF .... pretty please !!

Regards,

BD

Well it seems Mother was right .... manners are everything.

Thank you Qantas - received my offer in my email this morning.

Regards,

(A very happy) BD

Another recipient of a DSC offer here. My QFF year starts in June, forward bookings more than enough for WP re-equal.
Bookings from now until Nov 30th.
Registered but unlikely to use it. Would need to cancel a heap of bookings and re-book and probably not worth the effort

Add my name to the recipient list. Unfortunately already booked everything for the rest of the year. WP retained, no P1 again, maybe next year.

Looks like we have a campaign not aligned to members years or a new route, thats fairly rare and indicative of it being a tough market out there!

C'mon, lucky DSC offer!!! I've got about 40,000 (economy) miles still to book in 2013! Don't make me try for A3 Gold instead!

I have never been able to use the DSC offers. I am in the process of booking a few long haul flights and I haven't decided on the airline yet... so if I do get a DSC offer, I'll definitely go with QF... so, "Hint, hint ... QF ... pretty please" indeed! :-)
