Double Status Credits 2013

Probably within several days for DSC to show in your QFF account. You can then request ORC for an involuntary re-routing, so you should get all the SC in the end.

My Saturday flight credited Tuesday, my Sunday EK flight credited yesterday for the double.

Now that's my ideal princess aircraft ;)

Going on the posts here you would say that the latest crop of DSC offers is purely random, but of course sometimes the stars align nicely.

I was staring down the barrel of dropping back to PS on the 1st of November, and then I got the Aug-Oct offer in my email. I already had 1 domestic jaunt booked in September so missed out on a potential 20 SC there (though I have saved $500 on the airfare at today's prices), but have just scored an extra 20 from a Brisbane trip last week. I think I will have a couple more domestic returns and a trans-Tasman trip that will see me flop across the line, bloodied but victorious.

2nd year in a row that Qantas have given me a leg-up .... it must be my congenial personality!

Thanks for the advice above.

the DSC's arrived overnight. Basically only 2 days after the actual flights. As SC's seem to arrive the day after flights, the DSC were just one processing night later.

So - I just made the grade.

Sad really - I recall when I was doing some serious travel, I made Platinum before the Gold card had time to arrive. Ahhh the good old days when my wife called me 'darling" because she couldn't recall my name ...

Got a DSC offer from now to end November.

~500SCs from Plat, unlikely to make it at this stage (but you never know!).

Fortunately crosses into new SC year so may be able to use to kick-start next years chase...,

It's a sort of. If you receive a voucher and then use the voucher to rebook, the voucher will have a creation date outside of the original offer period, and thus wont be eligible. You need the booking ref to have been created within the offer period, which usually rules out gift vouchers (without a lot of fighting) and a cancel/rebook scenario. Of course, if you cancel and get a refund to your credit card, that's a different story, but pretty sure you need a very expensive ticket for that privilege :(

Has anyone had any experience with this? I just cancelled a few earlier bookings and used the credit towards flights in the offer period. There doesn't seem to be anything obvious in my bookings to suggest I used a voucher. Am I likely to get the double SCs?

You're unlikely based on previous experiences shared.

Reason being that the offer is meant to make you spend new money. As that money is already theirs (just unsure on which flight it'll be used), it's not counted.

Possible exceptions have been vouchers bought as vouchers (usually at the Christmas promotion) but they haven't credited automatically, from what I recall.

The Amadeus code will have some sort of date associated with when it was created and that needs to be in the offer period (other than perhaps a Christmas voucher).

T&C's may clarify what a new booking is, can't recall.

It took me 7 weeks and heaps of whinging on the phone to get my 200SC. When they did post all flights posted together even though they were spread out over a few weeks.

I also received the 50% DSC offer in July - now into my third week waiting for them to post.

Anyone received their SC from the recent 50% offer?

Now 5 weeks and nothing......

To have a DSC offer just after your renewal date is, as many had pointed out, pretty much useless

I disagree - for me I just got the DSC from 20 August to 30 November and then scored a Prem Econ itinerary to the US in Sept so hey presto a flying start to my renewal programme with 360 SC's (my anniversary is 1 September so for me it's perfectly timed and I don't get to plan my travel months advance - although with DSC I will try and get a couple of more flights in during the period)

Qantas gods have certainly been smiling on me - I just got comped for my WP renewal even though I did reach requalification levels (I know it only happens once) - so with DSC I can get a good start on my 2013/2014 renewal

This is my third DSC in 20 years of membership - I think the last one was just over two years ago and allowed me to reach WP status (with a couple of status runs undertaken) - so DSC's at anytime work for me!

And due to the DSC received that ends today I've to hit Silver for the first time.

Now we play the waiting game for the pack and those lovely little passes that will make the next ~6 hr transit at HKG a little more comfortable!

Got the DSC offer and my second ever JASA SYD-BNE-TSV-BNE-SYD organised by phone in 5 mins. I was surprised after watching the threads about trying to book these. After a J trip SYD-LHR-SYD just completed and with earlier SCs this gets me to within 60 SCs of WP. Woohoo. Thanks for the DSC offer Qantas.

Now to work out a fun day away or weekend away from SYD for >=30 SCs. Any suggestions?

What was the cost of your JASA? (points/$)?

A day trip to OOL in Y will net you 40 for the return trip with your DSC.

48k + ~$370, which is similar from memory to my previous JASA in June. Thanks for the tip OOL sounds like the perfect day out in spring weather.

Can't go wrong anywhere in mid-north QLD return for 30+ SCs (60+ with DSC), as long as you go soon before the heatwave. Sydney flies direct to at least Gladstone, Townsville, Cairns and Hamilton from memory.

Jessica; wallaby required 60SCs so a 20SCs up and 10SC back to get the 60.

Try either SYD-OOL-SYD a red e-deal one way $139 and a flexible on the return for $215.00 so around $350 for the day.

Check either SYD-CBR return or SYD-MEL return with one way being a flexi saver.

You could also pick SYD-ADL red e-deals each way for $159 as SYD-ADL is 15SCs each way.

Pick your lounge, or pick the location, to visit some friends or relatives for lunch.

The $300-$400 for platinum is probably worth it.

Congrats to a moderator who just recently received a double SC offer from Qantas.:D

Cheers Bundy Bear, I was looking for 30 return, not one way. A day trip to the city of churches as you suggest would be just the ticket.

And it seems QF have SYD-ADL and ADL-SYD for $129 each way for travel 1/10/2013 to 30/11/2013 at present. It's not an advertised sale so I am not sure how long that will be available. Just noticed it this afternoon. Not sure if it helps wallaby :)

Another DC offer came out?!
Man, another one missed again! I just lost my Gold and bumped down to Silver 2 days ago too :(

Wow! DSC offer just hit my inbox and I'm still 5+ months out from anniversary. Last year it came 2 months before anniversary, previous year it was 3 months after anniversary....time to go read the MASA sticky...
