I've received the offer as well, but all of my pre-Nov 30 travel have already been booked. I guess I could've tried for a long weekend in FRA if they were still flying SIN-FRA but I guess I'll just have to let it go this time.

Which God or Deity do I need to say nightly prayers to so I will get a Double Status Credits offer? I have some travel planned soon, not booked yet, and I want to make the most of it by using QF and a nice DSC offer will make it an easy booking decision for me.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

I got one in my inbox today for flights booked and taken 20th Aug to 30th Nov but my membership year just started on 1st July and I have 70 SCs so far.
I had 660SCs by April/May and had they sent me an offer in May/June, I would have strongly considered a run to WP.

Now, because of the timing of the offer, it will most likely lapse unused.

A one-way flight in J to ISA will get you there. Not that you'd want to be stuck here...

My husband got the offer too and we both have just qualified for WP Our plan year ends Oct 31 and already have flights booked for November so won't be used in our house either. Shame as we just completed two JASA's to get to plat with no offers

Looks like we have a campaign not aligned to members years or a new route, thats fairly rare and indicative of it being a tough market out there!

Here is a silly thought.

Discount flights a little more than usual and that way everyone can take advantage of them and a good chance of increasing bookings as well.

Was in the same boat last year, had zero travel planned for the 3 months I had the offer. Will see how it pans out this year, and plan less far ahead and see what happens. Our new holiday strategy is just to have a few little interstate trips, and if/when the DSC happens smash out a few o/s J trips... We'll see if that works.

To have a DSC offer just after your renewal date is, as many had pointed out, pretty much useless.

Most of us is into medium / long term planning (forward booking into mid-2014 etc... for the 2015 membership year) so this out-of-renewal offer only helps for the odd spur of the moment booking within the next 2-3 months.

From what we have seen reported so far, the uptake is low.

If so, maybe they will revert to the usual end-of-renewal offers.

Mrs_O has just received one of these. With flights booked so far, she only needs a JASA BNE-SYD-BNE to attain gold for the first time. I'm already SG and will be until end of July next year, but I'm trying to convince her it's worth her getting gold too because her membership year is 6 months removed from mine, and so we could maintain our QP access in case I don't re-qualify for the 2014/15 year.

Needless to say, she thinks I'm mad .

No DSC offer for me this year but still a fair way off my anniversary, should have enough flights booked to maintain SG though, will be crossing fingers for one next year though.

Another recipient of a DSC offer here. My QFF year starts in June, forward bookings more than enough for WP re-equal.
Bookings from now until Nov 30th.
Registered but unlikely to use it. Would need to cancel a heap of bookings and re-book and probably not worth the effort

I received a double SC offer two month before my review date. I flew the next week but the booking was made before I registered for the offer.

10 days before renewal I flew a run that would just give me enough to qualify. I went BNE - SYD-MEL-BNE.

at 1 am I get an sms saying SYD_MEL had been cancelled ( that was my dog leg to gain the extra SC I needed) - so when I phoned res the kind guy wanted to re route me direct BNE-MEL ...... nooooooooo!! my naughty plan is unwound !

but he "got it" they all know about SC runs!

So I got my base points - and that's not enough so my status will lapse - until the double SC points arrive up to 6 weeks later ? ( QUESTION: how long does it take in practice?)

Then I guess I need to ask for my level to be restored? lets see what happens ...

Probably within several days for DSC to show in your QFF account. You can then request ORC for an involuntary re-routing, so you should get all the SC in the end.
