I am not sure if anyone realise but Qantas have bumped up some of their fares since they announced DSC. A return flight ticket to China was $530 at the sale rate and today is $701. Likewise I was looking at business class seat and it is almost a 30% premium of what I would normally pay when I travel for work.

So you essentially you are paying for the DSC (unless you are one of the few lucky ones where work is paying) so don't think it is freebie because it does cost money.

If you are only flying for SC then you are not getting "double" but instead around 150% more because you are paying 30% more for the ticket.

I'd like to take advantage of this offer but I have no firm travel plans so would like to do a mileage run to get me to Gold asap. I need 195 SCs so what do you suggest would be my best/cheapest domestic run over a weekend? Starting from Mel.

...

The other question I'm still not sure of, is it you buy an F class fare from SYD - LHR for example, would the DSC be at F rates or are the double status credits at the flexible economy rates?
Under this promo, every SC earned will be matched, doubling the nett earn.

You reference to flex economy is ONLY relevant to frequent flyer points earn.

(See the first few pages of this thread.)

You'd probably be best to do indirect flights to QLD (e.g. CNS, OOL) or NZ.

About to buy some more vouchers and another year of WP coming up - woo hoo

For once, indecisiveness paid off. I almost pulled the trigger on 2 x work trips yesterday but decided to hold off, so glad I did! :)
Anyone doing the HKG lounge run in June going via SIN with this deal?

One sale finished 31/1 and another started 1/2.

When it says "operated by Qantas" would this count....
Brisbane 08:25
Bundaberg 09:20
Flight QF2320 is operated by Eastern On Behalf Of Sunstate

'fraid not. I booked on the PE sale last year.

Still if all goes well I'll have a new credit card soon and some DSC vouchers will be purchased for later use.

A trip to ADL in October will be used for one of the vouchers.

The 3 airfares I was looking at yesterday but couldn’t purchase have all increased in price by $250. And the three involved different routes so price hike extremely coincidental. Not!

Yeh im looking to try and find a good SYD - JFK J deal in Sept but there is very limited availability for QF11/12 with only saver or flex left. Other routing isnt great. I prefer not to go via SFO.

All I could see were flex fares

Hmm, trying to book a SYD-MEL-CHC-MEL-SYD multi-city booking but it won't let me do the last 2 legs in one day. Making me stay overnight in MEL.
Very strange. Still worth it for 500SC I think.

Dont do it as a multicity
Just do SYD CHC Return on the specific dates you want.
The indirect option is available via that method. No need to try and manually do it.
I was looking at it earlier and it offered an unrefurb'd A332 on the last leg. Not sure how i feel about that over a 767. Thats skybed MK1. Hoping that gets subbed.

But yeh that does look like a good DSC run.

I booked 3 tickets for 3 international trips today, going to Istanbul, Singapore and Beijing respectively, during August and October. In each of the 3 bookings, I used a Qantas voucher valued at $350 which I bought in December 2017, will that affect anything? I just realised that the booking reference number is the same as the one in each voucher, meaning the creation date is not today 1 Feb, but in December last year!

Tried to call 13 13 13 but was so difficult to get through, and the Live Chat agent wasn't quite sure, too (but said this, and I quote, "It would be better if you will contact the Frequent Flyer team. There are scenarios that they allowed this kind of things to be eligible on getting the promotion. It is not guaranteed but there is a chance that it will be accepted since you just booked the new flights today."). The Qantas FF team is only available from 7am to 7pm, lol. Before I call 13 13 13 and press 2 the first thing in the morning tomorrow, can anyone give a definite answer or rest me assured? Thanks in advance!

Ughh...of course booked my trip to TLV via LHR on QF last week. Oh well.

No work trips to book at the moment. Thought maybe a holiday somewhere, but as others have noted, not too much value domestically, especially living in Perth.

See this previous comment.

I recall AFFers reporting that they were able to get double SCs (from pre-promo-period gift vouchers) after calling. If you look through the 2017 thread you may be able to find comments indicating that.
Thanks. I just called Qantas, and the customer representative, after keeping me holding for a few minutes during which she asked her manager, told me that I'm still eligible for the double SC promotion and that all I need to do is call them after I actually finish each flight and they will manually intervene to make sure I can earn double SC for the bookings I made yesterday. She has put a note regarding this on my account, which rest me assured.
