for MEL-SYD-OOL, have you try to hop back on the 'same flight' ? planning to do that.. its like only 40mins

MELxSYD-OOL >> 700 - 1010
OOLxSYD-MEL >> 1050 - 1605

My favourite domestic runs are MEL-SYD-OOL and MEL-BNE-CNS. I'd like to see NZ so booking a trip e.g. MEL-SYD-WLG would be a possibility. Work trips would take me to the States and a big holiday would probably take me to LHR if I were to book that.

I may end up mostly sitting this offer out and making good use of next year's one (if there is one).

It would be the same plane. 40 minutes would give them enough time to get everyone off, do a quick clean, refuel, load catering and get everyone onboard and ready to go.

Note, the "invitation email" also came bundled with a SIN Sale email for me and some others. I almost deleted it (OI knew about the sale) but it also spruiked the DSC offer. some others got the straight DSC email.. perhaps the SIN sale does not apply to wherever they live.. I dunno.

Anyway "invite" email aside, I did receive a email confirming registration.

For those not getting a confirmation on the website or email, I would suggest to keep trying until you do to make sure you're really registered. I kept trying for 5-6 times using different browsers and after clicking register it just comes up with a page with no mention of the promotion and says something like you'll be automatically logged out after 25 minutes of inactivity and then redirects to the main page. I just kept trying and then finally after clicking register, got to a page to confirm my email address. Clicked confirm and the website showed successfully registered and email came instantly.

Has anyone received an email confirmation after signing up?

Didn't get an email confirmation when I signed up via the invite email link. Decided to register again, directly on the website, and this time got the email confirmation almost immediately. Fingers crossed the two different registrations don't cause problems.

Yup, I've done it. Though I split the return to an o/n in Sydney. :-)
Since it's the same plane you can't miss it. :-P

Should be fine. Don’t worry. Maybe you might even end up with quadruple credits. :)

Make sure you actually Register via logging in and confirming. I think you click the email link which takes you to a page that says "thanks for registering". But there is still a registration page and login you have to do to activate the offer and then you get the email confirmation. So if you are just clicking the link you may be falsely thinking you are registered. Due to the landing page saying you are registered.

If you received an email with "Register Now" and clicked that link, you are registered. The link is unique to the email/FF account it was sent to and will register the email/account holder. There is no confirmation email sent for this, but you ARE registered. This was the story for the targeted DSC email last year.

If it makes you feel better, you can register via the website and get an email confirmation as well.

Yes, that is exactly the case, thanks Sdtravel. Thanks also to everyone's advice above, Pushka et al, I now have a confirmation email. Gotta love AFF!

It’s great to have proof!

At least I know where I can find my registration confirmation (screenshot) if I need to prove to QF :D ;)

Having said that, I registered MrP and he didn’t get one.
Edit:
I signed him up again and it’s just come through now.
I received a dedicated auto register email link - with that I did not get an acknowledgement email.

I signed up SWMBO using the open Qantas.com portal - they received an email. I then redid mine in the same way as hers and received an email as well.

I received mine straight away. Did it via the website
I was quite surprised that the trip to new York was the same price today as it was a week ago.
Kinda expected a price hike
